Oncologist Karagiannis Athanasios, at the Athens Bioclinic, is responsible for the complete design and administration of systemic (intravenous or oral) therapy such as classic chemotherapy and primarily immunotherapy and targeted molecular therapy, based on the results of molecular testing conducted on the tumor of each specific patient, aiming for individualized therapeutic selection in accordance with global guidelines, thus providing patients suffering from cancer access to the latest therapeutic options in immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

He also actively participates in the oncology board, through which decisions are made that determine the overall therapeutic approach to managing a malignant disease. This includes, besides systemic therapy, radiotherapy, surgical removal, and various local treatments (thermal ablation, embolization). The medical team of the oncology board includes physicians from all specialties involved in treating a malignant disease, such as surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, internists, and pathologists, offering a comprehensive assessment of the disease, its treatment, and potential complications during the overall therapeutic course.

In our Oncology Department, numerous patients with lung cancer, stomach and intestinal cancer, pancreatic, liver, and biliary tract cancer, bladder and kidney cancer, and breast cancer are monitored.

Additionally, emphasis is placed on the complex therapeutic management of metastatic and advanced cancers through the simultaneous application of systemic and local therapies (directly to the metastatic site) in collaboration with the specialized interventional radiology department of the Athens Bioclinic. 

Meropouli Antonia MD, PhDC is a General Surgeon with a private practice in Nea Smyrni. She is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Consultant Surgeon at Metropolitan Hospital, and a scientific associate at various other private hospitals. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras. She specialized in General Surgery, specifically in diseases of the colon and small intestine, esophagus, stomach, liver, biliary tract, pancreas, obesity, thyroid disorders, as well as in the treatment of abdominal wall hernias both laparoscopically and via open surgery, at the 1st Surgical Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University at the General Hospital of Athens "Laiko". Dr. Meropouli has participated in numerous seminars, conferences, and courses in Greece and abroad and has several publications to her name.

Ο Φιστόπουλος Ιωάννης είναι Γενικός Χειρουργός και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στο Παλαιό Φάληρο. Το 1988 γίνεται δεκτός μετά από εξετάσεις στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Cluz-Napoca στην Ρουμανία (U.M.F. Cluz-Napoca). Μετά την αποφοίτηση του το 1994, ακολουθεί μέσα από μια σειρά εξετάσεων η λήψη άδειας επαγγέλματος κ η λήψη του τίτλου Medicin Docteur (MD). Το 1995 και για δεκαοκτώ μήνες υπηρετεί την στρατιωτική του θητεία ως οπλίτης ιατρός σε Ελληνική Μονάδα του εξωτερικού με καθήκοντα συντονιστή ιατρού του στρατοπέδου και των επιμέρους μονάδων του. Τερματίζει την θητεία του με εύφημο μνεία από το 401 Γενικό Στρατιωτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών. Τον Ιούλιο του 1997 και για 12 μήνες εκπληρώνει την υπηρεσία υπαίθρου στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Ικαρίας ως ιατρός, εκτελώντας εφημερίες και λαμβάνοντας μέρος σε όλες τις ιατρικές λειτουργίες του νοσοκομείου και κυρίως στην χειρουργική κλινική του νοσοκομείου υπό την καθοδήγηση του κ.Λεωνιδα Σιδέρη, Διευθυντή της χειρουργικής κλινικής του νοσοκομείου. Μετέπειτα, ξεκινά την εκπαίδευση του για την απόκτηση της ειδικότητος της χειρουργικής στο Γενικό Αντικαρκινικό Νοσοκομείο Πειραιά “Μεταξά”, στη Β΄ Χειρουργική Ογκολογική κλινική. Συνεχίζει την εκπαίδευση του στην Α’ Χειρουργική Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου Ν.Ε.Ε.Σ “Ερυθρός Σταυρός” υπό την καθοδήγηση και συνεχή εκπαίδευση του καθηγητή χειρουργικής Εμμ.Τιερή, Δ/ντή της κλινικής, παράλληλα λαμβάνει μέρος στην καθημερινή λειτουργία και στο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα της μονάδος λαπαροσκοπικής χειρουργικής η οποία αποτελούσε αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της Α΄ Χειρουργικής Κλινικής με επιβλέποντα Δ/ντη τον κ Β.Λαοπόδη. Dr Liagkos Th Georgios, MD, PhD, is a General Surgeon - Proctologist, graduate of the Medical School of Patras, and has been awarded the distinction of Outstanding Doctorate from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is the Director of the 2nd Surgical Clinic for Anorectal Diseases at the Lumedica group and a Scientific Collaborating Surgeon - Proctologist at Metropolitan Hospital in Neo Faliro and Therapis in Athens. He maintains private practices in Aigaleo and Lamia. He is a certified member of the American College of Surgeons (ATLS - ACS Committee on Trauma) and an active member of the Hellenic Surgical Society, the Hellenic Society of Endoscopic Surgery & Other Minimally Invasive Techniques, the Hellenic Society of Coloproctology, and the Hellenic Phlebology Society. He has specialized in Surgical Treatment of Anorectal Diseases and Intestinal Surgery at the General State Hospital of Nikaia, and has undergone additional training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery of Abdominal Wall Hernias. Ntourakis Dimitrios MD, PhD, FACS is a General Surgeon maintaining a private practice in Paleo Faliro. He is a Professor of Surgery at the European University of Cyprus and the Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Clinic at Iatriko Paleo Faliro. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a graduate of the same institution’s Medical School. Additionally, he holds diplomas in Laparoscopic Surgery, Ultrasound, and Ultrasonographic Techniques from the University of Strasbourg, a diploma in Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery from Paris XI University, and a diploma in Colorectal and Anal Surgery from Paris Diderot - Paris VII University. It is also noteworthy that he graduated from the Surgical Leadership Program at the Harvard Medical School. He initially specialized at Korgialeneio - Benakeio Hospital of the Hellenic Red Cross and subsequently continued his training at the University of Strasbourg, France, where he later served as Chef de Clinique des Universités. Dr. Ioannis Zouridakis, MD, MSc, is a General Surgeon and Breast Specialist who has maintained a private practice in Korydallos since 1994 and recently within REA Hospital. He is a Scientific Collaborator and a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He earned his medical degree in 1986 from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a doctoral thesis completed during his studies. He specialized in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos" and further specialized in Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Montpellier in France. He attended the European Advanced Level Course in Breast Disease Management for Surgeons in Athens and specialized in the treatment of breast diseases at the 6th Oncology Hospital "G. Gennimatas." Subsequently, he specialized in hernia surgery using dual mesh PHS & Prolene 3D Patch at Umberto I Hospital in Italy and also specialized in Minimally Invasive Operating Techniques in Colorectal Surgery. He has worked in numerous hospitals and clinics and has served for many years as the Director of the Surgical Clinic at Metropolitan Hospital. Currently, he works daily as a Surgeon – Laparoscopist – Breast Specialist (Consultant Surgeon) at the General and Maternity Hospital REA, one of the most modern hospitals in Greece. Finally, he has attended and participated in over 100 medical conferences in Greece and abroad.

Ο Δρ Παύλος Πισκιλίδης είναι Παθολόγος Ογκολόγος, Διευθυντής – Συντονιστής της νεόδμητης Ογκολογικής Μονάδας του Mediterraneo Hospital (Mediterraneo Pointlife), στη Γλυφάδα Αττικής. Παράλληλα, είναι Επιστημονικά Υπεύθυνος του Πολυϊατρείου Oncowise (Healthwise), επί της Λεωφόρου Βουλιαγμένης, στον Άγιο Δημήτριο Αττικής.

Διαθέτει 13ετή εμπειρία στα μεγαλύτερα ογκολογικά κέντρα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, όπου εργάστηκε σε θέσεις αυξανόμενης ευθύνης και διετέλεσε Consultant Medical Oncologist (Διευθυντής Ομάδας) έως το 2024, οπότε και επέστρεψε μόνιμα στην Ελλάδα.

Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών το 2010. Ακολούθησαν 13 έτη εξειδίκευσης, μετεκπαίδευσης, μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών και κλινικής εργασίας σε κορυφαία ογκολογικά κέντρα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Τον Απρίλιο του 2024 επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα και εργάστηκε αρχικά ως Επιμελητής Παθολόγος Ογκολόγος στο ΙΑΣΩ General. Τον Οκτώβριο του 2026 ανέλαβε τη Διεύθυνση, τον Συντονισμό και την Επιστημονική Ευθύνη της νεόδμητης Ογκολογικής Μονάδας του Mediterraneo Hospital (Mediterraneo Pointlife), στη Γλυφάδα Αττικής .

Εξειδίκευση και επαγγελματική πορεία

Το 2020 απέκτησε την ειδικότητα της Παθολογικής Ογκολογίας στο The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, στο Liverpool του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Παράλληλα, ολοκλήρωσε τη διατριβή του στη Γενετική Ογκολογία (MSc in Genomic Oncology) στο University of Manchester.

Σε ηλικία μόλις 34 ετών, ανέλαβε θέση Επιμελητή στο The Christie NHS Foundation Trust στο Manchester, ένα από τα κορυφαία ογκολογικά κέντρα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου και διεθνές κέντρο αναφοράς. Εκεί εργάστηκε για 3,5 χρόνια ως Consultant Medical Oncologist (Διευθυντής Ομάδας), συμμετέχοντας σε πολυάριθμες διεθνείς κλινικές μελέτες Φάσης ΙΙ και ΙΙΙ.

Το 2023, του απονεμήθηκε ο τιμητικός ακαδημαϊκός τίτλος του Λέκτορα Παθολογικής Ογκολογίας στο Bangor University, στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.

Μετεκπαίδευση και επιστημονική κατάρτιση

Ο Δρ Πισκιλίδης έχει συμμετάσχει σε σημαντικά μετεκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα και έχει εμπλουτίσει την επιστημονική του κατάρτιση σε τομείς που συμπληρώνουν την κλινική του εξειδίκευση. Ειδικότερα, έχει ολοκληρώσει:

• Το πρόγραμμα Μετεκπαίδευσης στην Παρηγορική Ιατρική (MDSC in Palliative Medicine), στο University of Liverpool, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.
• Το πρόγραμμα Κλινικής Ηγεσίας και Διοίκησης για Ιατρικές Ειδικότητες (Clinical Leadership and Management Course for Medical Specialties), στο Keele University, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.
• Το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα διδασκαλίας του Πανεπιστημίου της Οξφόρδης (Teach the Teacher Oxford University Teaching Course), Oxford, Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο.
• Το προηγμένο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα Ανοσο-Ογκολογίας και Precision Oncology (HMX, Harvard Advanced Immuno-oncology and Precision Oncology Course), του Harvard University, ΗΠΑ, για το οποίο έλαβε πιστοποιητικό επιτυχούς ολοκλήρωσης (Certification of Achievement).

Εκπαιδευτικό και θεσμικό έργο

Κατά την περίοδο 2021–2023, ο Δρ Πισκιλίδης διετέλεσε μέλος της Βρετανικής Εθνικής Επιτροπής που ήταν υπεύθυνη για τη διεξαγωγή των συνεντεύξεων επιλογής νέων ειδικευόμενων ιατρών (Specialist Registrars) στην Παθολογική Ογκολογία, εκ μέρους του Royal College of Physicians του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου.

Παράλληλα, συμμετείχε ενεργά στο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα νέων Παθολόγων και Παθολόγων Ογκολόγων στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, συμβάλλοντας στην εκπαίδευση και την επαγγελματική ανάπτυξη της επόμενης γενιάς ιατρών.
