Vascular surgeon - Angiologist with experience in Καρωτιδική νόσο in the Southern suburbs of Athens

Vakalopoulos Paulos MD, MSc is a Vascular Surgeon - Angiologist, former Director of the Vascular Surgery Clinic at the Naval Hospital of Athens, and Director of the 2nd Vascular Surgery Clinic at Mediterraneo Hospital in Glyfada. He is a graduate of Military Medicine (SSAS), which trains Medical Officers of the Armed Forces who simultaneously attend the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This dual qualification was achieved with considerable effort, while his continuous education and many years of experience, both at the Naval Hospital of Athens and other units of the Navy, as well as in the private sector, have entrusted him with duties and responsibilities requiring expert knowledge of modern medical technology and decisiveness in daily patient care. His pursuit of advancement in medical science and technology was fulfilled through his postgraduate training in Endovascular Vascular Surgery and Vascular Triplex at Imelda Hospital in Bonheiden, Belgium (2005). Numerous cases employing pioneering methods formed his daily training under the guidance of the Director of the Vascular Surgery Clinic, Patrick Peeters. The determination of his mentor translated into trust for the trainee, resulting in a more comprehensive and effective education. His expertise in Vascular Ultrasound led him to attain a Master’s degree (2016) from the Medical School of the University of Thessaly, completed with distinction ("Excellent"). Ongoing education in new interventional methods using the latest and advanced innovative materials propelled him to earn a Master’s degree (2012) from the Medical School of the University of Athens, completed with distinction ("Excellent"). In the aforementioned Intergovernmental Postgraduate Program "Endovascular Techniques," he is an invited Professor, presenting the latest developments from clinical studies and interesting cases related to the Endovascular repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms.

Panagiotis Roukanas is a Vascular Surgeon - Angiologist and maintains his private practice in Nea Smyrni. He holds a degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a graduate of the inter-university postgraduate training program in "Endovascular Techniques" from the same University in collaboration with the University of Bicocca in Milan. He completed his military service as a Unit Physician and worked as a rural doctor at Zakynthos Hospital. He specialized in Thoracic Surgery at the Athens Chest Diseases Hospital "Sotiria" and in Cardiac Surgery at the General Hospital of Athens "Hippokration." Additionally, he trained in General Surgery at the Attica General Hospital KAT and in Vascular Surgery at the General Hospital of Athens "Laiko." He is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous diseases using the most advanced methods, as well as in the treatment of diabetic foot and lymphedema. As part of his specialization, he participated in research programs in the field of Angiogenesis and the treatment of deep Venous Thrombosis. His scientific activity includes presentations at Greek and international conferences and publications in scientific journals. Since 2011, he has also been an affiliated physician at the BioClinic of Athens.

Georgios Xatzantonis is a vascular surgeon-endovascular surgeon. He trained at one of the largest centers for diabetic foot management and vascular access (fistula) in Germany and specializes in innovative endovascular techniques, having performed over 2,000 related procedures on hemodialysis patients in Germany and Greece. He is the head of the Vascular Access Center at Errikos Dunant Hospital, as well as the head of the Vascular Access Department at the 2nd Vascular Surgery Clinic, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at GNA “Laiko” Hospital. Mr. Xatzantonis is the pioneer behind the establishment of the first vascular access center in Greece, recognized by the international Vascular Access Society as a training center for vascular access surgery for hemodialysis patients. Finally, the physician is a scientific collaborator at Errikos Dunant Hospital, Mediterraneo Hospital, and GNA “Laiko” Hospital.

Dr. Papasideris Xristos is a Vascular Surgeon - Angiologist, PhD holder from Democritus University of Thrace, maintaining private clinics in Marousi and Kallithea. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and holds a postgraduate diploma in "Vascular Surgery: Endovascular Techniques." He also completed advanced training at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of Heinrich – Heinle University in Düsseldorf, Germany. He has been a scientific associate at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of the University of Athens, the University General Hospital Attikon, as well as a collaborator and surgeon at private hospitals. During his specialty training, he worked at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, Evangelismos Hospital, Konstantopouleio General Hospital of N. Ionia “Agia Olga,” and the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. Additionally, he teaches at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as part of the course ‘Vascular Surgery,’ has participated as a speaker in conferences and workshops, and has numerous presentations at international conferences and publications in internationally recognized journals. He is a member of the Hellenic Professional Association of Vascular Surgeons and a board member of the Angiology Society, the Hellenic Vascular Surgery Society, and the Union of EOPYY Physicians (ENI-EOPYY), serving as the General Secretary. Finally, he specializes in the latest minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
