Animapsyche - Aggeliki Mitrou is a Psychologist, graduate of the Department of Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holder of a professional license. At the same time, she is a Psychotherapist, trained in the Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy model at the Center for Applied Psychotherapy and Counseling.
She has attended numerous training sessions and seminars in Clinical Psychology, Adult Psychopathology, Health Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Special Education, Cognitive Interventions, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychological First Aid, among others, and has also been trained in the administration of psychometric tools. In collaboration with experienced and esteemed professors from the University, she co-authored an article published in a well-known scientific journal entitled "Koliouli F, Issari P, Mitrou A. (2021). Lived experiences of Idiopathic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients and the perceived impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Journal of Health Psychology."
She maintains her private practice in Goudi (near Agia Sofia Children's Hospital) where she provides, both online and in person, individual and group psychotherapy sessions for adolescents and adults, parent counseling, as well as chronic disease management for patients and caregivers. She is specialized in a wide range of issues and psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, chronic illnesses, exam anxiety, couples therapy, parent counseling, phobias, anger management, communication skills or assertiveness, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress, personality issues, etc.
Finally, she collaborates with the Association of People with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis of Greece and provides psychotherapy services to patients and caregivers. Appointments at her office are available by appointment only.
