Filippos Gkekis

Psychologist – Psychotherapist

Founder of ReConnecT Clinic

From a young age I learned, through difficult experiences, that pain is not only a burden but can also become a “gift”: it can bring to the surface our essence, our talents, our resilience. This way of seeing pain shaped my values: contribution, authenticity, deep connection, simplicity, joy, harmony and ongoing growth.

I started out as a physiotherapist, working for years with people at the “bedside of pain”. Before long I realised there are also invisible wounds – emotional, relational, existential – that often shape how we experience even our own body. This led me to change career, study Psychology and train in psychotherapy.

Today I offer individual and group psychotherapy sessions, bridging body, mind and relationships.

I often work with:

Stories of trauma and recurrent difficult experiences

Relationships that fall into vicious circles of conflict or distance

People with many interests and/or high expectations of themselves, who feel exhausted, confused or “stuck”

Anxiety, hyperarousal, psychosomatic symptoms and chronic pain

Issues of self-esteem, shame and guilt

How I work

I believe that therapy is simple – not easy, but simple – when the therapist can integrate different approaches according to the needs of each person. Having trained in different schools of psychotherapy (cognitive analytic therapy, systemic psychotherapy, EMDR trauma therapy, emotion-focused therapy, body-oriented Gestalt psychotherapy), I work with you to organise the “chaos” of your experience into something more understandable and manageable.

My aim is not only to reduce symptoms, but to help you stand in your life with more calm, clarity and meaning – to reconnect with yourself, your important people and your existence as a whole.

We might be a good fit if…

• You want to see your pain also as a potential source of strength and growth.

• You’re tired of “holding everything together” and are looking for a space where you can show up as you are, without roles.

• You feel it’s time to set clearer boundaries, priorities and direction in your life.

Maria Angeliki Mylonaki

Psychologist – Systemic Counsellor & Psychotherapist

MSc Social Psychology

I am a psychologist with a master’s degree in Social Psychology and four-year training in Systemic Counselling & Psychotherapy. Over the nine years of my professional path, I have offered my services in various mental health, prevention and social care settings – spaces where I met people who needed understanding, a stable framework and someone to accompany them through what they were going through.

I am interested in how anxiety, relationships, the body and the social context interact with each other and how, within all this complexity, each person can gradually rediscover their inner resources, especially when they feel tired or disconnected from themselves.

I often work with:

Experiences of anxiety and exhaustion, when someone feels they live “in constant alert”

Difficult experiences that may leave tension behind, with people who want to regain a sense of safety and a bit more control over their life

Relationship difficulties in couples, when communication is blocked and there is a wish for more connection and understanding

Relationship with the body and self-care, when these are affected by anxiety, self-criticism or high expectations

How I work

My perspective is systemic: I see you within the systems of relationships you belong to – family, partner, friends, workplace, community. In our sessions, I try to create a space where you can slow down, hear a little more clearly what is happening inside you and process it together.

Through the therapeutic process, we can discover your “resources” – your skills and strengths – and use them for small, steady steps. With a sense of responsibility towards yourself, you can gradually move towards the changes you want in your life, according to what you are aiming for.

Having trained in Trauma-Informed Care, and in issues of addictions and eating disorders, I stand by you with sensitivity, taking into account traumatic experiences, your embodied experience and the social dimensions of your life.

We might be a good fit if…

• You feel you are constantly “running in high gear” and you want to understand better how anxiety affects your life and explore how to reconnect with yourself and Others.

• You wish to explore your relationship with your body and food, especially if you struggle with binge-eating patterns or intense worry about eating.

• You want to work through difficult experiences and need a safe space to rebuild a sense of control and safety.

• You want to work on your relationship or the dynamic with your partner and explore together how you can find greater connection and mutual understanding.

Panagiota Katevaini

Psychologist – Systemic Family Psychotherapist

Training in EFT (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy)

From a young age I was preoccupied with how a person can find relief when they are in pain. At first I believed this could only happen through medicine. Gradually, however, I saw that many “illnesses” do not concern only the body, but also the psyche, relationships and a person’s life story. So I chose Psychology, because for me it held deeper meaning to stand alongside people who struggle with psychological difficulties and are searching for a calmer, more alive way of living.

I studied Psychology at Panteion University and completed my clinical placement at the child psychiatry department of the “Aghia Sofia – Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital. Since then, I have been consistently working in mental health, education and special education settings, with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families.

I often work with:

Difficulties in the parent–child relationship and in family communication

Couple relationship difficulties, recurrent conflicts, emotional distance

Anxiety, emotional overload, the feeling of “I can’t take it anymore”

Adolescent issues, identity and boundaries within the family

How I work

In therapy, I am first interested in understanding what it is like to be you: in your family, in your relationship, at school or at work. I never see a person “on their own”, but within the web of relationships that shape them.

I work systemically with individuals, couples, families and groups. In couple sessions I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps us see beneath conflicts to the deeper needs for closeness and safety.

With parents, we work on parental identity, boundaries and emotional literacy – that is, how to recognise, name and support their children’s emotions as well as their own.

My aim is to create together a steady, safe space where you can speak openly, experiment with new ways of communicating and reconnect with yourself and the people who matter to you.

We might be a good fit if…

You want to look at your place within your family with more understanding and less guilt.

You are concerned about how what is happening at home is affecting your children or your relationship.

You feel that something “is not quite right” in your relationships, but you find it hard to put it into words.

What it is

It is used for people with suicidal behavior, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorder, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety.

Approach
