Ο Δρ Κόκκαλης Γεώργιος είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και Διδάκτορας της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Εξειδικεύτηκε στην Πλαστική Χειρουργική στο Department of Plastic and Jaw Surgery (Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, UK), στο Plastische und Wiederstellung Chirurgie Abteilung (Universitatsklinik, Innsbruck, Austria) και στο Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital (New York, USA). Το 1997 ανέλαβε τη Διεύθυνση της Κλινικής Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής, ως Συντονιστής Διευθυντής, μέχρι τον Δεκέμβριο του 2014. Υπήρξε Γενικός Γραμματέας της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Πλαστικής Επανορθωτικής και Αισθητικής Χειρουργικής, Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Μικροχειρουργικής, Πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Μελέτης Μελανώματος και Tαμίας της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Μαστολογίας. Διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής Πανελληνίων Συνεδρίων Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής, Μικροχειρουργικής, Μελανώματος και Ογκολογικών Συνεδρίων. Συμμετείχε ως μέλος της οργανωτικής επιτροπής και σαν ομιλητής σε Διεθνή και Πανελλήνια Συνέδρια. Υπήρξε εκπαιδευτής ειδικευομένων στην Πλαστική Χειρουργική και άλλων ειδικοτήτων καθώς και μέλος της Επιτροπής χορήγησης ειδικότητας Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής, διορισθείς από το υπουργείο Υγείας και Πρόνοιας. Η κλινική του έλαβε πολλές φορές βραβεία για τη εκπόνηση κλινικών και πειραματικών ερευνών. Εργασίες του έχουν δημοσιευθεί σε Διεθνή και Ελληνικά περιοδικά και υπήρξαν σημεία αναφοράς σε πολλούς ξένους ερευνητές. Υπήρξε μέλος εθελοντικών ομάδων προσφοράς ιατρικής βοήθειας στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό. Οργάνωσε και συμμετείχε πλειστάκις σε εθελοντικές ομάδες ενημέρωσης του πληθυσμού της υπαίθρου σχετικά με την πρόληψη του καρκίνου δέρματος, του μελανώματος και του καρκίνου μαστού.
