Vergados Athanasios is an Ophthalmologist and maintains a private clinic in Ampelokipoi. Upon completing his medical studies, he specialized at the First University Ophthalmology Clinic (G. Gennimatas - KOFKA). In May 2014, he was awarded a PhD in Ophthalmology for his research project titled "Preperimetric lesions in pseudoexfoliative Glaucoma" from the Medical School of the University of Athens.
