Είναι Διδάκτωρ και απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής σχολής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης και μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Θεσσαλονίκης. Ι. Παλλήκαρη, εμπνευστή της μεθόδου LASIK για την διόρθωση των διαθλαστικών σφαλμάτων- μυωπία,αστιγματισμος,υπερμετρωπία και στην διορθωση της πρεσβυωπίας, καθώς και του κερατοκωνου.

Επίσης, εκπαιδεύτηκε στη Μ. Βρετανία στη χρήση βοτουλινικής τοξίνης για την εξάλειψη των ρυτίδων του προσώπου και τη θεραπεία του βλεφαρόσπασμου καθώς και στην εφαρμογή ενέσιμων σκευασμάτων υαλουρονικού οξέος για την εξάλειψη των ρυτίδων και ουλών του προσώπου.
