He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens and was awarded the title Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology - FEBO in 2010. He graduated from the Military Officers School of Corps and the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens. He served as Director of the Ophthalmology Clinics at the 401 Military Hospital and the Veterans Hospital 417 NIMTS, both located in Athens, for 10 years. He accumulates 25 years of hospital experience, including a two-year postgraduate training in the USA at the University of California San Diego focusing on corneal diseases, and extensive experience in microsurgical cataract surgery, having performed over 3,000 cataract operations. He is a distinguished Ophthalmologist who has served as an examiner for the European Diploma of Ophthalmology, with numerous publications in both international and domestic journals, and a significant educational contribution at conferences and workshops. He possesses specialized and extensive experience in microsurgical cataract surgery using advanced technology intraocular lenses, sutureless pterygium removal with biological adhesive and autotransplantation, glaucoma surgeries with specialized valves, and the diagnosis and treatment of keratoconus (crosslinking). Finally, through his continuous participation in conferences, the doctor ensures he remains updated on the latest developments and surgical procedures in ophthalmology.
