After obtaining her first degree, she continued her studies at the Medical School of the University of Athens while simultaneously conducting and successfully completing her Doctoral Thesis with distinction at the same university, focusing on the study of molecular pathogenic mechanisms in systemic autoimmune diseases. She further pursued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical School of Athens and subsequently at the internationally renowned Molecular Biology Center of the University of Madrid (Centro de Biologia Molecular, Severo Ochoa).
