Syrmou Areti is a Pediatrician and Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She maintains a private practice in Metamorfosi. She graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and specialized in the Second University Pediatric Clinic of the General Children's Hospital "P. & A. Kyriakou." Additionally, she is a breastfeeding counselor and specialist in infant and child nutrition through the Postgraduate Program in Pediatric Nutrition at Boston University School of Medicine, having been trained in malnutrition, obesity, nutritional deficiencies, vegetarian diets, and gut microbiota. She has also received further training in the early detection of pervasive developmental disorders and holds a proficiency certificate for the Standardized Autism Spectrum Disorder Screening Test "pais" as well as neonatal and pediatric resuscitation certification (PEPP). She has particular expertise in Medical Genetics, having worked as a collaborator in the Medical Genetics department at the University of Athens, where she completed her doctoral dissertation. She served as a Consultant in the Pediatric Clinic of Euroclinic Children's Hospital and Leto Maternity Hospital, while also collaborating externally with private clinics (IASO, Mitera, Iatriko, Euroclinic Children's Hospital). Finally, she has numerous publications and presentations in international and Greek medical journals, as well as at Greek and international conferences, has contributed to book authorship, and has received awards from the Hellenic Pediatric Society.
