Μετά από εξετάσεις, έλαβε τον τίτλο της Fellow του Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και του European Board of Ophthalmologists (FEBO). Είναι κάτοχος αναγνωρισμένων διπλωμάτων εξειδίκευσης στην Παιδιατρική Οφθαλμολογία και το Στραβισμό Eνηλίκων ενώ είναι η πρώτη ιατρός από την Ελλάδα που εξειδικεύτηκε στην Παιδιατρική Οφθαλμολογία στο εμβληματικό The Hospital for Sick Children of Toronto, όπου βρίσκεται το μεγαλύτερο κέντρο Παιδιατρικής Οφθαλμολογίας της Βορείου Αμερικής (HΠΑ και Καναδάς). Έχει εργαστεί ως Επιμελήτρια στο Νοσοκομείο Παίδων « Η Αγία Σοφία» και στο Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (Senior Registrar & ΑSTO). Διαθέτει πλούσιο ερευνητικό και εκπαιδευτικό έργο. Ακόμη, συμμετέχει ενεργά με ομιλίες σε διεθνή συνέδρια και είναι εξετάστρια για τις εξετάσεις FRCOphth. Gaki Stergiani FEBO is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Ophthalmologist with a practice located in Nea Smyrni, near the central square.
