Polythodorakis Ioannis is a Neurosurgeon - Spine Surgeon, who served as President of the World Spine Society (WScC) from 2018 to 2020 and has been the Director of the 4th Neurosurgical Clinic at Errikos Dynan Hospital Center since 2017. He is the Scientific Director at the medical center Athens Brain & Spine Surgery in Chalandri since 2010. He is specialized in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders, with particular expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery techniques. Since 2004, as a member of the World Spine Society, he has been involved in training orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons in spine surgery techniques at educational centers worldwide, including Cleveland Spine Clinic (USA), Saarland University Medical Center, Homburg Saar (Germany), University Hospital Birmingham (UK), Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College (Pakistan), Ain Shams University (Egypt), Nobel Institute of Neurosciences, Biratnagar (Nepal). In 2016, he was honored by the President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain, for his contribution to the training of neurosurgeons in Pakistan. Finally, in 2018, he was recognized as an instructor for his longstanding involvement in the training of neurosurgeons in Pakistan and was awarded lifetime membership in the Pakistani Neurosurgical Society.
