Giavi Varvara is a Ophthalmic Surgeon and maintains a private practice in Athens. She studied at the Medical School of Patras, graduating in 2010. Subsequently, she completed her rural medical service in Andritsaina, Ilia, and began her specialty training at the Panarcadian Hospital of Tripoli for one year. She obtained her Specialty Title in 2019, after specializing at the 1st University Clinic of GNA G. Gennimatas, where she remained for a total of five years. During the years 2019-2021, she provided services, among others, as the head of the Glaucoma Department of the 1st University Clinic of Gennimatas, managing a multitude of glaucomatous cases both diagnostically and surgically. Although she was accepted for further training in glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 2022, she chose to remain in Athens, where she currently lives and works. Her clinic began operating in July 2024, while she has also collaborated for several years with the Aktina Center in Athens and Loutraki. As a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society, the European Dry Eye Society, and the General Medical Council of the UK, she participates in both Greek and international conferences, with publications, involvement in two doctoral dissertations, and distinctions at the national level. She undertakes the full spectrum of general ophthalmology for adults and children.
