Dr. Maria-Irini Kourakou is a practicing ophthalmologist based in Cholargos, Athens. She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2004–2010), and later completed a Master’s Degree in Medical Imaging in Ophthalmology at the Democritus University of Thrace (2018–2023).She began her professional career with a clinical residency at Hospital Bellvitge in Barcelona, Spain (2012–2013), gaining valuable experience in a high-level international medical environment. Εν συνεχεία, το ακαδημαϊκό έτος 2019-2020, εξειδικεύτηκε στον τομέα της Νευρο-Οφθαλμολογίας (διάρκεια Fellowship 1 έτος) ως προσκεκλημένος Neuro-Ophthalmology International Fellow στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Harvard, στο νοσοκομείο Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, στην Βοστώνη των ΗΠΑ, υπό την καθοδήγηση των παγκοσμίου φήμης καθηγητών Νευρο-Οφθαλμολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Harvard, Dr Joseph Rizzo III και Dr Dean Cestari. Κατά την παραμονή του στις ΗΠΑ, o κος Σαϊτάκης συμμετείχε με εργασίες στο Συνέδριο Νευρο-Οφθαλμολογίας της Βορείου Αμερικής (NANOS) και ανέλαβε ερευνητικά projects στο πεδίο της νευρο-οφθαλμολογικής προσβολής στην ‘’IgG4-related disease’’, συνεργαζόμενος με τον φημισμένο καθηγητή Ρευματολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου του Harvard, Dr John Stone. Είναι κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος (MSc) «Οπτική και Όραση» του Βαρδινογιάννειου Εργαστηρίου Μεταμοσχεύσεων και Μικροχειρουργικής του Οφθαλμού (IVO) και της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης, αποφοιτώντας από το διετές πρόγραμμα με τον υψηλότερο βαθμό. Varvagiannis Nikolaos I. is an Ophthalmologist maintaining a private practice in Pefki. Pournaras and Prof. H. Heiman, respectively. He is the author of 35 articles in international scientific journals, as well as 18 chapters in English and French ophthalmology books, and has delivered over 90 presentations at Greek and international ophthalmology conferences. He holds the European Board of Ophthalmology diploma and has been awarded for his scientific work at international conferences. Dr. Mendrinos has participated in international studies (Excite, Mont Blanc, Cabernet, VIEW2) that established the modern management of age-related macular degeneration. He is the founder and administrator of the Medica Polyclinic in Agios Stefanos, where he currently practices, a state-of-the-art facility covering nearly all specialties. Pantazis Dimitris MD, FEBO, DiSSO is an Ophthalmologist who maintains a private clinic in Marousi. He graduated in Medicine from Semmelweis University and specialized in Ophthalmology in Germany, at the University Clinic of Hamburg.
