She received training in General Surgery in the General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery department at Landshut-Achdorf Hospital, the General Surgery and Trauma Surgery department at Dominikus Krankenhaus in Düsseldorf, and the Trauma Surgery and Orthopedics department at St. Josef Krankenhaus Moers. Dr. Kanakidou specialized in Plastic Surgery in the Plastic, Aesthetic Surgery, and Hand Surgery department at Fachklinik Hornheide Münster. She worked as a specialist physician at the private Clinic for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, Praxisklinik für Ästhetische und Plastische Chirurgie in Kassel, with a specialization in aesthetic surgeries of the body and face. She is a member of the German Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery (DGPRÄC) and the Hellenic Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery (HESPRAS).
