Mitrogiannis Georgios is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Adults and Pediatrics – Sports Medicine Physician, maintaining a private practice in Nea Ionia. He served for five years as Director of the Rheumatology Department at NIEE and currently serves as a scientific collaborator at the University of Athens. He founded the "Low Back Pain and Spinal Column Clinic" at the University of Athens, which he transferred to the private sector under the name "Institute of Neck Pain, Low Back Pain, and Spinal Column," where he focuses on the conservative non-surgical treatment of spinal diseases, the publication of related articles, and the organization of seminars. He is among the first scientists to have internationally documented that conservative treatment can reduce or eliminate the size of intervertebral disc herniation and that paretic sciatica caused by discopathy is no longer an absolute indication for surgery, but can be managed equally well or better conservatively.
