Mykoniatis Ioannis is a Urologist - Andrologist and maintains a private practice in Thessaloniki. Σήμερα εργάζεται ως Επικουρικός Επιμελητής Β’ στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο "Κοργιαλένειο - Μπενάκειο Νοσοκομείο Ε.Ε.Σ.", όπου συμμετέχει ενεργά στην αντιμετώπιση τόσο απλών, οσο και σύνθετων ουρολογικών περιστατικών, ενώ παράλληλα διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στον Πειραιά, προσφέροντας ολοκληρωμένες υπηρεσίες υγείας.

Έχει ολοκληρώσει το πρόγραμμα μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας με τίτλο "Χειρουργική Κάτω Κοιλίας, Ελάσσονος Πυέλου και Περινέου". Κατά την διάρκεια του προγράμματος εκπόνησε διπλωματική εργασία με τίτλο "Θεραπεία της κυστεοκήλης με τοποθέτηση πλέγματος". Επιπλέον, είναι υποψήφιος Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Θέμα της διατριβής αποτελεί η "Ταυτοποίηση και συγκριτική μελέτη του μικροβιώματος των ούρων με τον ουροθηλιακό καρκίνο της ουροδόχου κύστης".

Αποτελεί μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Αθηνών, της Ελληνικής Ουρολογικής Εταιρείας, καθώς και της Ευρωπαϊκής Ουρολογικής Εταιρείας.
