Ο Dr. Δημήτριος Α. Βουγιουκλάκης, MD, PhD, είναι Γενικός Χειρουργός της Κλινικής Γενικής, Λαπαροσκοπικής, Βαριατρικής και Ρομποτικής Χειρουργικής και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στους Αμπελοκήπους. Γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στον Πειραιά και κατάγεται από τη Λάγια της Μάνης. Αποφοίτησε από την Ιωνίδειο Πρότυπο Σχολή Πειραιά και, κατόπιν Πανελλαδικών Εξετάσεων, εισήχθη στην Ιατρική Σχολή Αθηνών και στη Στρατιωτική Σχολή Αξιωματικών Σωμάτων (ΣΣΑΣ) Θεσσαλονίκης, από όπου αποφοίτησε το 1985 ως Ανθυποσμηναγός Ιατρός. Μετά την υπηρεσία του στην Υγειονομική Υπηρεσία της 130 Σμηναρχίας Μάχης στη Λήμνο, εκπαιδεύτηκε στη Γενική Χειρουργική στο 251 Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αεροπορίας και στο ΝΕΕΣ, αποκτώντας τον τίτλο ειδικότητας το 1992. Το 1996 μετέβη στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο για μετεκπαίδευση στο Royal Free Hospital του Λονδίνου, στον τομέα της χειρουργικής ήπατος, χοληφόρων, παγκρέατος και μεταμοσχεύσεων ήπατος, όπου εργάστηκε ως Fellow και έμμισθος χειρουργός. Με την επιστροφή του στην Ελλάδα, συνέχισε την επαγγελματική του πορεία στο 251 ΓΝΑ, όπου διετέλεσε Επιμελητής Χειρουργικής και, από το 2006, Διευθυντής της Α΄ Χειρουργικής Κλινικής. Το 2021 ανέλαβε καθήκοντα Υποδιοικητή και Διευθυντή Ιατρικού Προσωπικού του 251 ΓΝΑ με τον βαθμό του Ταξιάρχου, ενώ το 2023 ορίστηκε Πρόεδρος της Ανωτάτης Υγειονομικής Επιτροπής Κρίσεων της Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας. Το 2024 αποστρατεύθηκε ευδοκίμως με τον βαθμό του Υποπτεράρχου, τον ανώτατο βαθμό του Υγειονομικού.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της μακρόχρονης πορείας του έχει λάβει εξειδικευμένη εκπαίδευση στην ελάχιστα επεμβατική, λαπαροσκοπική και ρομποτική χειρουργική, με συμμετοχή σε σειρά εξειδικευμένων εκπαιδευτικών courses στο IRCAD του Στρασβούργου και στο ORSI του Βελγίου. Το 1995 αναγορεύθηκε Διδάκτωρ του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, μετά την εκπόνηση πειραματικής διδακτορικής διατριβής με αντικείμενο τις σηπτικές και άλλες επιπλοκές μετά την εμφύτευση χολόλιθων στην περιτοναϊκή κοιλότητα. Παράλληλα, έχει πλούσια επιστημονική δραστηριότητα, με δημοσιεύσεις σε διεθνή ιατρικά περιοδικά και πολυάριθμες ανακοινώσεις και παρουσιάσεις σε ιατρικά συνέδρια στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.

Η χειρουργική του εμπειρία καλύπτει όλο το φάσμα της Γενικής Χειρουργικής, τόσο στην ανοικτή όσο και στη λαπαροσκοπική και ρομποτική χειρουργική. Περιλαμβάνει, μεταξύ άλλων, μείζονες ηπατεκτομές, παγκρεατεκτομές Whipple, επεμβάσεις πρωκτού, περινέου και θυρεοειδούς, καθώς και επεμβάσεις ανώτερου και κατώτερου πεπτικού, ήπατος, παγκρέατος, σπλήνας, ενδοκρινών και συμπαγών οργάνων, βαριατρικές επεμβάσεις και αποκατάσταση κηλών κοιλιακού τοιχώματος. Στον τομέα της ρομποτικής χειρουργικής, η εμπειρία του περιλαμβάνει επεμβάσεις ανώτερου πεπτικού, βαριατρικής χειρουργικής, παχέος εντέρου και ορθού, καθώς και αποκατάσταση κηλών κοιλιακού τοιχώματος. Πολλές από τις χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις του έχουν παρουσιαστεί και βιντεοπροβληθεί σε ελληνικά και διεθνή ιατρικά συνέδρια, ενώ ορισμένες έχουν διακριθεί και βραβευθεί ως καλύτερες βιντεοπροβολές συνεδρίων.
