Γνωστικά αντικείμενα ενδιαφέροντος (διαγνωστική και επεμβατική ενδοσκόπηση ανωτέρου και κατωτέρου πεπτικού, νοσήματα ήπατος-χοληφόρων -παγκρέατος, ιδιοπαθή φλεγμονώδη νοσήματα του εντέρου/ελκώδης κολίτιδα-νόσος Crohn). Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist M.D.

I am Alexandros Spyrantis, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist M.D., with a private practice in Ilioupoli, Athens. I am also a Gastroenterologist Associate at the 1st Department of Gastroenterology and Interventional Endoscopy at IASO General Clinic.

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Latvia in Riga and subsequently completed my specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Greece. My specialist training included the Hepato-Gastroenterology Department of G.O.N.K. “Agioi Anargyroi”, as well as clinical training at the Gastroenterology Department of General Hospital of Nikaia “Agios Panteleimon”. Prior to specialising in Gastroenterology, I trained in Internal Medicine, gaining broad clinical experience in the overall assessment and management of patients.

Gastrointestinal endoscopy is a particular area of professional interest. I have completed the Hellenic Gastroenterology Society’s Endoscopy School and have participated in hands-on training in invasive endoscopic techniques. I also regularly participate in scientific conferences and educational programmes in Greece and abroad, with a focus on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy.

In my clinical practice, I assess and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, indigestion, gastritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, peptic ulcer disease, abdominal pain, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea and changes in bowel habits. I also evaluate gastrointestinal bleeding, colorectal polyps, diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as liver and biliary disorders.

I place particular emphasis on careful history-taking and a structured diagnostic approach. I believe that patients should clearly understand what may be causing their symptoms, why a particular investigation is recommended and what the next steps should be.

For this reason, I aim to give each patient sufficient time to discuss their symptoms, concerns and expectations. I explain the diagnosis and available treatment options in clear and understandable terms, while tailoring the medical approach to each individual patient.

My approach combines current medical knowledge with personalised care. I believe that effective medical care should take into account not only the clinical findings and scientific evidence, but also the individual needs and circumstances of each patient.

Alongside my clinical work, I maintain an active interest in medical research and continuing professional education. I have participated in scientific studies, presentations and posters at Greek and international conferences, with topics including inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, gastrointestinal endoscopy and a range of gastrointestinal conditions.

My aim is to provide patients with medical care that combines scientific expertise, careful diagnostic assessment, up-to-date knowledge and clear, compassionate communication.

For me, good medical care does not end with establishing a diagnosis. It also means providing clear information, an appropriate management plan and building a relationship of trust between doctor and patient.

Gkaragkanis Dimosthenis is a Gastroenterologist who operates a private practice in Haidari. He holds a medical degree from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania and specialized in Internal Medicine at the Pathology Clinic of the Regional Hospital of Tripoli, as well as in Gastroenterology at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "G. Gennimatas." He is an associate physician at the Advanced Interventional Endoscopy Department of the Athens Bioclinic and a Consultant in the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Department of Metropolitan General. He completed rural service at the Neraiodhorio Regional Clinic of the Pylis Health Center and the Stemnitsa Regional Clinic of the Dimitsana Health Center in Arcadia. Smyrnidis Aleksandros is a Gastroenterologist with a private clinic in Keratsini. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed a 9-month fellowship in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and wireless capsule endoscopy of the small and large intestine in Edinburgh. Additionally, he undertook a 6-month fellowship in the Second Gastroenterology Clinic of the General Hospital "Evangelismos," specializing in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Maria-Theodora Koutroumpi, MD, MSc, is a Gastroenterologist – Interventional Endoscopist with a private practice in Patima, Halandri. She is an affiliated Consultant at the 2nd Gastroenterology Clinic of YGEIA Hospital. Additionally, she performs endoscopies at Affidea Kifisia (contracted with EOPYY) and the private REA clinic. She has significant clinical and endoscopic experience, having performed over 1,600 endoscopies during her specialty training at the General Hospital of Athens "Georgios Gennimatas," and she has also worked as a resident Physician at the General Hospital of Nafplio. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and holds an MSc from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Human Neoplastic Disease. Dr. Stefanos Tingas is a Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist – Interventional Endoscopist. In 2010, he graduated from the Medical School of the distinguished “Tor Vergata” University in Rome. After completing his military service as a military doctor with the 32nd Marine Brigade, he worked as a rural doctor at the Health Center of Sofades in Karditsa, then as a Primary Care Physician at the Vittorakis Polyclinic in Platanias, Chania, and as a sports doctor for the sports medicine company “Actionmed.”He began his specialization in gastroenterology at the 2nd Oncology Clinic of the General Oncology Hospital of Kifisia “Agioi Anargyroi,” where he completed the general internal medicine portion of his training. He then continued his gastroenterology specialization at the General Hospital of Piraeus “Tzaneio,” where he earned the title of Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.During his specialty training and overall tenure at “Tzaneio” General Hospital, he acquired significant expertise in interventional endoscopy, including techniques such as removal of large polyps, EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection), small bowel investigation with capsule endoscopy, placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), hemostasis of bleeding ulcers, esophageal variceal band ligation, and cauterization of angiodysplasias and other lesions using Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC).Dr. Tingas has also been trained in high-definition endoscopy (Narrow Band Imaging - NBI chromoendoscopy) for the prevention and early diagnosis of early-stage cancer and precancerous conditions of the digestive tract.He has gained extensive experience in managing patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), as well as liver diseases, actively participating in the hospital’s hepatology outpatient clinic.Dr. Stefanos Tingas has participated in numerous conferences and seminars and has authored publications in both international and Greek medical journals. Panagou Emmanouil is a Gastroenterologist with a private practice in Ampelokipoi. He is a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the medical department of the Military School of Corps Officers. Additionally, he has received further training in hepatology and interventional-therapeutic endoscopy at the Royal Free Hospital in London, as well as in the use of laser technology in gastroenterology at the Middlesex Hospital, also in London. Η Σοφία Κατσίλα, MD, MSc, PhDc είναι Γαστρεντερολόγος, Επιμελήτρια στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αθηνών «Ιπποκράτειο» και Υποψήφια Διδάκτωρ του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ). Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης και κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού διπλώματος στη Χειρουργική Ογκολογία από το ΕΚΠΑ. Πραγματοποίησε μέρος της ειδικότητάς της στο ΓΝΑ «Ευαγγελισμός» και ολοκλήρωσε την ειδικότητα της Γαστρεντερολογίας στο ΓΝΑ «Ιπποκράτειο».

Παράλληλα, είναι επιστημονική συνεργάτιδα της Α΄ Προπαιδευτικής Χειρουργικής Κλινικής του ΕΚΠΑ, με αντικείμενο τη φυσιολογία και την κινητικότητα του οισοφάγου. Το ιδιαίτερο κλινικό και ερευνητικό της ενδιαφέρον επικεντρώνεται στη γαστροοισοφαγική παλινδρόμηση, τη διάγνωση και θεραπεία του οισοφάγου Barrett, τη διερεύνηση της δυσφαγίας, καθώς και τη διάγνωση και ενδοσκοπική αντιμετώπιση των κινητικών διαταραχών του οισοφάγου. Διαθέτει εμπειρία στη μανομετρία οισοφάγου υψηλής ανάλυσης και την 24ωρη pHμετρία–εμπεδησιομετρία, καθώς και σε νεότερες τεχνικές, όπως το EndoFLIP και το EsoFLIP.

H Ανδριανάκου Γεωργία MD, MSc είναι Γαστρεντερολόγος – Ηπατολόγος – Επεμβατική Ενδοσκόπος και διατηρεί το ιδιωτικό της ιατρείο στη Νέα Κηφισιά. Επιπρόσθετα, το 2021 παρακολούθησε επιτυχώς το Ενδοσκοπικό Σχολείο, υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής Γαστρεντερολογικής Εταιρείας. Karlaftis Anastasios MD is a Gastroenterologist - Hepatologist and maintains a private practice in Metamorfosi, while also collaborating with the endoscopy department of the diagnostic center "Ionio Iatriki." He is a PhD candidate at the University Gastroenterology Clinic of the Medical School of the University of Athens and a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He specialized in the Gastroenterology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "G. Gennimatas" and has worked in major hospitals such as the General Hospital of Athens "Laiko," the General Hospital of Athens "Alexandra," and the General Hospital of Chania "Agios Georgios." Η Βικτώρια Θώδου, MD,PhD, είναι Γαστρεντερολόγος – Ηπατολόγος με εξειδίκευση στην επεμβατική ενδοσκόπηση ανώτερου – κατώτερου πεπτικού και χοληφόρων αγγείων.Γεννημένη και μεγαλωμένη σε αθηναϊκό προάστιο, η γιατρός εισήχθη με Πανελλαδικές Εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών το 2005, από όπου αποφοίτησε μετά από εξαετή φοίτηση.Αμέσως μετά την αποφοίτησή της, το 2011, μετέβη στη Γερμανία και συγκεκριμένα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Έσσεν (Universitätsklinikum Essen), ονομαστό πανεπιστημιακό νοσοκομείο και το μεγαλύτερο μεταμοσχευτικό κέντρο ήπατος της Γερμανίας, για την ειδίκευσή της αρχικά στη Γενική Παθολογία, τον τίτλο της οποίας απέκτησε το 2017.Το 2020, ενώ ήδη διατελούσε χρέη επιμελήτριας στην ίδια κλινική, απέκτησε και τον τίτλο της Γαστρεντερολογίας και Ηπατολογίας.Κατά την εκπαίδευσή της μαθήτευσε δίπλα στον ονομαστό καθηγητή Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alexander Dechêne, σε διαγνωστικές αλλά και επεμβατικές πράξεις. Arousis Igiant is a Gastroenterologist - Endoscopist and maintains a private practice in Chalandri. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed his specialty in Gastroenterology at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," performing over 2000 endoscopic procedures of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract during his training. He has served as the lead physician at the clinics "Athinaion" and "Agios Eleftherios," as well as the lead physician in the Hemodialysis Unit at the "Eugenidio Foundation."
