Papaxristos Athanasios is an Orthopedic Surgeon, Director of the 5th Orthopedic Clinic at Euroclinic Athens, who maintains a private practice in the Ampelokipi area. He initiated and completed his Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology residency at the University General Hospital of Larissa in the Orthopedic Clinic Department under the direction of Professor K.N. Malizos. He is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. During the final year of his residency, he trained in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery at the Minimal Access Surgery Unit of the I.R.C.C.S. GSD Hospital, Milan, Italy, under Professor and Director Prof. Pietro Randelli. He also trained in M.I.S. Fast Track total hip and knee arthroplasty and arthroscopic surgery at the Luganese Hospital, Lugano, Switzerland, under Professor and Director Prof. Mateo Denti. He began his Sports Medicine specialty at the University Hospital Catanzaro, Italy, following entrance exams, holding a salaried position and scholarship from the E.U., under the direction of Professor Pietro Scotto di Vettimo. During the first year of the specialty, he trained at the University Hospital Chieti, Italy, in the Sports Medicine Department under the direction of Professor Leonardo Vecchiet.
