He specialized in sports medicine, trauma surgery, and total knee and hip arthroplasty at recognized centers in Greece (KAT Hospital), Europe (University Orthopedic Clinic in Homburg Saar, Germany), and the USA (Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois, and Cornell University Hospital for Special Surgery, New York). He worked as an orthopedic surgeon in the sports injuries department of the General Attica Hospital KAT for more than 8 years, and to date has served as a team physician for football, volleyball, and basketball teams. Additionally, he served as Director of the Sports Injuries Department at Metropolitan Hospital and the Euromedica Group, as well as Director of the Orthopedic Clinic of Neon Athinaion. Dr. Tsapakidis Giannis was born in Larissa in 1975 and graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000. He completed his residency in Orthopedics at the Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus, with part of his training conducted at KAT and Charing Cross Hospital in London. He received a scholarship from AO and worked as a Fellow at the Sports Injuries and Trauma Center of Queens Medical Centre University Hospital in Nottingham. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Athens and a member of AO ALUMNI. Since 2006, he has been the team physician for the women's basketball team "ESPERIDES" Kallithea (Women's A1 Champions 2006-7 and 2008-9, and Greek Cup winners 2005-6, 2006-7, 2007-8, 2008-9). From 2015 to 2018, he was part of the medical team providing orthopedic coverage for athletes of KAE AEK, while since 2013, he has been the medical provider for the basketball team of PROTEAS VOULAS, and from 2015 to 2025, he provided medical coverage for the basketball athletes of KAE AMAROUSSIOU. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the physician for the WOMEN'S NATIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM, and from 2022 to 2024 as the physician for the PANIONIOS B.C. team. Previously, he was part of the medical team covering the athletes of KAE PANELLINIOS (2008-2011) and the Cultural and Sports Center "DAIS." Κατά τη θητεία του εκεί ο ιατρός μετεκπαιδεύθηκε στον τομέα των αθλητικών κακώσεων παίδων και εφήβων, σε πρωτοποριακές τεχνικές αποκατάστασης της ρήξης του προσθίου χιαστού συνδέσμου, της διαχωριστικής οστεοχονδρίτιδας του γόνατος και της αστάθειας της επιγονατίδος με Διευθυντές τους Καθηγητές Parikh N. Shital και Εric J. Wall. Κατά τη διάρκεια του κλινικού του έργου, ο Δρ. Σαρλικιώτης δεν υποτίμησε ποτέ τη σημασία της εκπαίδευσης στο πεδίο της Ορθοπαιδικής. Ως εκ τούτου συμμετέχει ως εκπαιδευτής στο Πρόγραμμα Μαθημάτων των Φοιτητών της Ιατρικής Σχολής Αθηνών για το επιλεγόμενο μάθημα της Ορθοπαιδικής Παίδων.
