Mpakopoulou Ioanna is a Pediatrician specializing in Pediatric Endocrinology and maintains a private practice in Kaisariani. She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and initially specialized in Pediatrics at the General Hospital of Heraklion, Crete “Venizeleio” and subsequently at the University Clinic of Democritus University of Thrace. Additionally, she trained in Pediatric Endocrinology in a salaried Medical Officer position at Archbishop Makarios III Hospital in Nicosia, Cyprus from 2003 to 2005. Since 2005, she has been a member, following evaluation, of the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and an associate member of the Hellenic Endocrine Society. She has worked as Registrar at the General Hospital of Xanthi, where she established the first pediatric endocrinology clinic in Thrace. Later, she worked in the Department of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes at the 1st Pediatric Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at the General Children’s Hospital “Agia Sophia,” under Professor G. Chrousos, where she participated in the training program for medical students and pediatric and adult endocrinology residents. In 2014, she retired as an NHS Director and from 2015 worked as a Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Commission International Accredited Dr. Sulaiman al Habib Hospital, with a capacity of 360 beds. She actively participated in resident training programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, delivering numerous lectures and seminars. Since 2020, she has been a scientific collaborator at IIBEAA, in the Pediatric and Adolescent Overweight Clinic, within the Unit of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes of the 1st Pediatric Clinic of the University of Athens at the General Children’s Hospital “Agia Sophia,” as a member of Professor E. Harmandari’s team.
