Dr. Sarantis Mixalis, MD, MSc, PhDc, is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with a private practice in Psychiko. He also serves as a Consultant in the Orthopedic Clinic and Sports Injuries Unit at Metropolitan Hospital. He has extensive experience, having specialized at the General Children's Hospital "Agia Sofia" and the 4th Orthopedic Clinic of G.N.A. KAT, while at the same hospital he further specialized in the Hand-Upper Limb-Microsurgery Clinic, the Sports Injuries Department, and the Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic.
In 2018, he successfully completed advanced training in pediatric orthopedic trauma and pediatric skeletal disorders at the Orthopedic Hospital Speising (Vienna, Austria). Since 2019, he holds a Master’s degree in "Metabolic Bone Diseases - Osteoporosis" from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2020, he was appointed a doctoral candidate by the Medical School of Athens, and since then has been conducting his doctoral research at the 2nd Orthopedic University Clinic of the University of Athens (Konstantopouleion Hospital - Agia Olga).
He is an active member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS), the European Society for Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the Hellenic Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (HSOST), and the Medical Association of Athens. Furthermore, he has a substantial academic portfolio, being the author of numerous publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals (PUBMED) and actively participating in presentations at Greek and international conferences.
