Ο ιατρός είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης και κάτοχος Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος (Master of Science, MSc) στην «Άθληση και Υγεία» με βαθμό Άριστα από την Ιατρική Σχολή Αθηνών του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Grigorios Sasalos is an Orthopedic Surgeon, Consultant at the Orthopedic Clinic of Metropolitan Hospital, and maintains a private practice in Galatsi.
