Kourtinos Aleksandros is an Adult and Pediatric Cardiologist - Pediatric Cardiologist and maintains a private practice in Volos. He graduated with honors from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Medical Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, specializing in lipid disorders. He completed his military service in the Medical Corps - 32nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade and served as a rural physician at the Primary Health Center of Lavkos-Milina-Promyri. He began his specialty in Internal Medicine at the University General Hospital of Volos and continued in Cardiology at the University General Hospital of Ioannina and the University Hospital of Luxembourg. After completing his specialty, he undertook further training in Pediatric Cardiology at AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloniki and continued his specialization with a scholarship from the Hellenic Cardiology Society in advanced cardiovascular imaging in France, where he focused on the latest echocardiographic techniques (3D imaging, stress echo, exercise echo, transesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac CT angiography). He worked for several years as a consultant in specialized cardiac ultrasound at the University Hospital of Lille (CHU Lille) and subsequently as a private echocardiologist at the largest cardiology and cardiac surgery center in Northern France. He has extensive experience in complex valvular diseases, having participated as an echocardiographer in both transcatheter (MitraClip, TriClip, PFO, LAA, ASD, VSD closure) and surgical repairs of these conditions. He holds the European Diploma in Cardiology (EEGC) from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), as well as European certification in transthoracic (TTE) and transesophageal (TOE) cardiac ultrasound from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
