General practitioners (GPs) in Macedonia

Dr. Theodoros Lagarias is a seasoned physician with extensive experience in Primary Health Care and medical education. He began his medical career as a resident physician at the General Hospital of Chania, serving from 2007 to 2011. Subsequently, he held the position of General Practitioner at the Health Center of Agia, Larissa, advancing to the rank of Senior Registrar (Grade A) from 2011 until 2024.​

Between 2017 and 2024, Dr. Lagarias served as the coordinator for the training of resident physicians in General/Family Medicine at the General Hospital of Larissa, playing a pivotal role in their clinical and scientific development. Concurrently, he contributed to undergraduate medical education by participating as an instructor during educational visits of medical students from the School of Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki to Primary Health Care units.​

Dr. Lagarias holds certifications in emergency pre-hospital care and in the early detection and prevention of mental disorders, the latter obtained through the Vocational Training Center of the Mental Health Center in Chania. He has actively participated in numerous educational activities, both as a trainee and as a lecturer, including seminars, conferences, and training workshops.​

Lyritsi Eirini is a General Practitioner specialized in Family Medicine, graduated from the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. She completed her specialization at Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki, Karditsa General Hospital, as well as the University General Hospital of Heraklion. She holds an ALS certification and has completed further training in Emergency Prehospital Medicine.

She worked as an Attending Physician A in the National Health System (Trikala General Hospital and Naxos General Hospital-Health Center) for 15 years and at the Swiss Biological Medical Centre in Cyprus, a holistic medicine center (chronic pain and holistic approaches including acupuncture, homeopathy, vitamin therapy, nutrition, and exercise).

Since 2021, she has been working in a private clinic in Switzerland (Permanence Medcenter Luzern) managing acute and chronic cases.

Simultaneously, she provides telemedicine consulting in collaboration with Dr Online and NN since 2022.

She is fluent in English and German and has sufficient proficiency in Italian.

Zaxariadis Konstantinos is a General Practitioner who maintains a private practice in Nea Smyrni. He holds a degree in Medicine and Pharmacy from the University of Craiova and has specialized in general medicine at the General State Hospital of Nikaia. Simultaneously, he continuously attends numerous national and international conferences to ensure his ongoing education. He is a member of the Hellenic Diabetes Association, the Hellenic Society of General Medicine, the American Diabetes Association, and the Hellenic Society of Hypertension and Cardiovascular Protection. The doctor has experience in blood pressure regulation, managing obesity and asthma, as well as smoking cessation support. Through his professional experience in major and recognized hospitals in Greece, he is capable of addressing a wide range of conditions in his private practice.

Fragkakis Emmanouil MD is a Specialist in Internal Medicine with a private practice in Chania. He holds a specialty title in Internal Medicine with additional training in Emergency Prehospital Medicine. In 2009, he graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and subsequently completed his military service after serving in the 1st Paratrooper Squadron in 2010. In 2012, he was a member of "Doctors of the World," participating in the clinics of the city of Chania, and from 2013 to 2023, he was involved in the Social Clinic - Solidarity Pharmacy of Chania. He obtained the title of Specialist in Internal Medicine, completing his specialty in 2018, and since then, he has been practicing at the Private General Clinic Gavrilakis "IASIS," managing the Internal Medicine department and practicing clinical medical pathology. He collaborates with distinguished physicians across all specialties in the prefecture of Chania as well as throughout Greece, aiming for a holistic and effective approach to patients’ health issues. Throughout his medical career, he has participated in numerous medical conferences and remains informed about the latest scientific developments in the field of Internal Medicine and Medical Science. He is certified in the electronic prescribing and examination system of the National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPYY), enabling him to prescribe medications from multiple specialties across ALL insurance funds, as well as referrals for laboratory blood tests, radiological exams, etc.

Dr. Iliana Pantelidou is an Internist and serves as the Director of the Internal Medicine Clinic at the Psychiko Medical Center. She graduated with honors from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Doctorate in Pathology (Infectious Diseases specialty) from the same university, awarded with honors. She worked as Deputy Director and Senior Registrar at the Errikos Dyunan Hospital from 2016 to 2024. Additionally, she has been a Scientific Collaborator at the Immunology of Infectious Diseases Clinic and the 4th University Internal Medicine Clinic of the Attikon University Hospital, where she participated in numerous research programs and projects. Finally, she attends and participates with presentations in a large number of seminars and conferences, both domestically and internationally, focusing on continuous education and professional development in her field.
