Δαμάσκου είναι εστιασμένο στη σύγχρονη αντιμετώπιση της στεφανιαίας νόσου και των συγγενών δυσλιπιδαιμιών, την εξέλιξη του κλάδου της κάρδιο-ογκολογίας, καθώς και σε τομείς που άπτονται της επεμβατικής καρδιολογίας, όπως οι υψηλού κινδύνου αγγειοπλαστικές σε σύμπλοκες βλάβες και η χρήση βιοαπορροφήσιμων stent. Έχει συνολικά δημοσιεύσει περισσότερα από 50 επιστημονικά άρθρα και έχει συγγράψει κεφάλαια επιστημονικών συγγραμμάτων και είναι κριτής σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά. Τέλος, συμμετέχει με ομιλίες σε διεθνή και ελληνικά συνέδρια και έχει λάβει μέρος σε σημαντικές διεθνείς κλινικές μελέτες.
