George Karampelias is a medical doctor specialized in Otorhinolaryngology (ENT). His professional journey began in 2015 when he served as a Military Doctor in Greece. That same year, he joined the General Oncological Hospital of Kifisia "Agioi Anargyroi" as a Resident in General Surgery, a position he held until March 2017.From March 2017 to March 2018, he worked as a Resident in Otorhinolaryngology at the General Children’s Hospital of Penteli and then continued his specialization at the General Hospital of Athens "Elpis" until May 2021. He then served his rural medical service at the Astros Health Center in Kynouria until July 2022. Since July 2022, he has been working as an ENT physician at Cosmetic Derma Medicine and, since December 2022, he has also been affiliated with ORL Athens Clinic. Additionally, he collaborated as an external ENT associate with Errikos Dunan Hospital Center between 2022 and 2023, and in 2025 with Hospitality General Clinic.His academic background includes a High School Diploma from the 3rd General Lyceum of Kifisia, obtained in 2003. He studied Biology and Zoology at the University of L’Aquila in Italy between 2004 and 2007. He received his Medical Degree from the Medical University of Varna in Bulgaria in 2014. During his studies, he also completed clinical training in Thoracic Surgery at the Agios Savvas Oncology Hospital in Athens in the summer of 2011. Since March 2021, he has been enrolled in a Master’s program in Rhinology and Nasal Surgery at the Democritus University of Thrace, expected to complete in 2024.Throughout his scientific career, he has actively participated in numerous medical conferences with a wide range of presentations. In 2018, he presented his work at the 10th International Congress of Internal Medicine in Athens and at ESPO2018 in Sweden. His contributions included studies on the morphological changes of the nasal mucosa in children with generalized nasal polyposis, sinonasal findings in granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), malignant external otitis in pediatric and adult patients, and the relationship between type 1 diabetes mellitus and hearing loss in children. He also presented rare clinical cases, such as unilateral keratosis obturans in a 12-year-old boy and hearing manifestations in Wolfram syndrome.In the same year, he participated in the 24th ENT Educational Conference with presentations on the training of ENT residents and the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for sudden sensorineural hearing loss. In 2019, he presented a large cystic lesion of the maxilla involving eight teeth at the 19th Seminar of the Hellenic Rhinologic Society. He also participated in a preventive screening program for upper respiratory allergies in the Peloponnese region in early 2019.George Karampelias is a native Greek speaker and has excellent command of English, Italian, French, and Bulgarian.He is distinguished for his dedication to ongoing education, scientific involvement, and commitment to delivering high-quality medical care in the field of Otorhinolaryngology.
