Aikaterini Benekou, MD, is a Consultant Hematologist with extensive experience in clinical hematology and the management of hematologic malignancies. She runs a private practice in the center of Athens (Pedion tou Areos). She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and in 2015 was awarded the Medical Specialty Title in Hematology after completing her training at Laiko General Hospital of Athens.

From 2015 to 2018, she worked as a Hematology Registrar/Consultant at Barts NHS Trust in London, gaining substantial experience in the management of hematologic malignancies and advanced therapeutic approaches. Διετέλεσε τακτικό μέλος του Αιματολογικού Ογκολογικού Συμβουλίου του νοσοκομείου και ήταν επικεφαλής της Υπηρεσίας Επείγουσας Αντιμετώπισης Ογκολογικών ασθενών. Εκτός από την Κλινική Αιματολογία, εστίασε και στην εφαρμοσμένη κλινική έρευνα. Επιπλέον, της Διδακτορικής της Διατριβής, έχει δημοσιεύσει μεγάλο αριθμό άρθρων σε διεθνή ιατρικά περιοδικά και έχει συμμετάσχει σε σημαντικό αριθμό κλινικών μελετών. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a dissertation on "Genetic polymorphisms and pregnancy outcome" and is a graduate of the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace.
