Dr. Siganos Xaralampos, MD, PhD, is an Ophthalmologist who maintains a private practice in Heraklion. He graduated from the English-speaking Medical School of Cairo University in 1987, earned a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology (MSc Ophthalmology) from the same School (1993), and obtained his Ophthalmology Specialty certification in Egypt and Greece following examinations (1993). In 1999, he was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine with "Excellent" honors. He completed three years of postdoctoral training abroad (1994-1997) and acquired a Fellowship specializing in Corneal Diseases & Transplantations. His professional career is marked by numerous significant milestones, including his directorship and responsibility for the Cornea Department and the Corneal Transplantation Unit at the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University Hospital of Heraklion from 1998 to the present. He is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Medical School of the University of Crete.
