Ξεκίνησε την επαγγελματική του πορεία σε κέντρα αποκατάστασης, όπου ασχολήθηκε κυρίως με τη μετεγχειρητική αποκατάσταση και την επαναφορά της λειτουργικής κινητικότητας ασθενών συμβάλλοντας ουσιαστικά στη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής τους. Στη συνέχεια, ανέλαβε θέση επιστημονικού υπευθύνου σε φυσικοθεραπευτήριο για διάστημα δύο ετών με κύριο αντικείμενο την αξιολόγηση και αποκατάσταση αθλητών καθώς και τη διαχείριση μυοσκελετικών παθήσεων στον ενήλικο πληθυσμό. Polythodorakis Ioannis is a Neurosurgeon - Spine Surgeon, who served as President of the World Spine Society (WScC) from 2018 to 2020 and has been the Director of the 4th Neurosurgical Clinic at Errikos Dynan Hospital Center since 2017. He is the Scientific Director at the medical center Athens Brain & Spine Surgery in Chalandri since 2010.
