Markopoulos Xristos is an Orthopedic Surgeon and a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Athens, with a private practice in Marousi. Φλέβας ολοκλήρωσε την ειδίκευσή του στην Ορθοπαιδική Χειρουργική και Τραυματολογία το Μάρτιο του 2019 στην Α΄ Ορθοπαιδική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, στο Π.Γ.Ν. ΑΤΤΙΚΟΝ. Ο ιατρός εκπαιδεύτηκε στην αρθροσκόπηση και στις αθλητικές κακώσεις στο HKF International Center for Hip, Foot and Knee Surgery, ATOS Clinic Heidelberg, στη Χαιδελβέργη της Γερμανίας για 6 μήνες, καθώς και στη Χειρουργική Χεριού και τη Μικροχειρουργική στην κλινική Άκρας Χείρας και Μικροχειρουργικής του ΓΝ ΚΑΤ. Επίσης το Φεβρουάριο του 2022 βρέθηκε στη Νέα Υόρκη στο Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA, το Νο1 ορθοπαιδικό νοσοκομείο των ΗΠΑ, ως υπότροφος (Fellow) του SNF Complex Joint Reconstruction Center. Εκεί για περισσότερους από 12 μήνες συμμετείχε σε πολυάριθμες πρωτοποριακές ερευνητικές μελέτες και εκπαιδεύτηκε στην αντιμετώπιση πολύπλοκων περιστατικών αρθροπλαστικών ισχίου και γόνατος καθώς και αναθεωρήσεων. Στο ίδιο νοσοκομείο των ΗΠΑ ο κ. Φλέβας είχε μεταβεί ως επισκέπτης Ιατρός σε διάφορες περιόδους της εκπαίδευσής του. Το συγγραφικό του έργο περιλαμβάνει πολυάριθμα άρθρα σε διεθνή και εγχώρια περιοδικά καθώς και κεφάλαια σε βιβλία, ενώ είναι και κριτής άρθρων σε διεθνή περιοδικά Ορθοπαιδικής. Έχει συμμετάσχει ενεργά σε πληθώρα εγχώριων και διεθνών επιστημονικών συναντήσεων ενώ έχει λάβει πολλαπλές υποτροφίες από εγχώριες και διεθνείς επιστημονικές εταιρείες. Ιδιαίτερο επιστημονικό ενδιαφέρον του αποτελούν η αρθροσκοπική χειρουργική, η ελάχιστης επεμβατικότητας επανορθωτική χειρουργική καθώς και η ορθοπαιδική έρευνα. Τέλος, ο ιατρός διατελεί, παράλληλα με το ιδιωτικό του ιατρείο και Επιμελητής Ορθοπαιδικός Χειρουργός στο Τμήμα Αθλητικών Κακώσεων του Θεραπευτηρίου Metropolitan Hospital.
