Η πολύμηνη εκεί του θητεία ολοκληρώθηκε με επιτυχία λαμβάνοντας τον Ευρωπαϊκό Τίτλο Εξειδίκευσης ως Χειρουργός Σαρκωμάτων.

Στη συνέχεια και για τα επόμενα τέσσερα χρόνια εργάσθηκε στην Χειρουργική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημιακού Νοσοκομείου του Μάνχαϊμ στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Χαϊδελβέργης της Γερμανίας, ως Αναπληρωτής Διευθυντής στην Κλινική της Χειρουργικής Ογκολογίας και στο Κέντρο Σαρκώματος , το οποίο αποτελεί ένα από τα ιστορικότερα και μεγαλύτερα Κέντρα παγκοσμίως. Κατά την παραμονή του εκεί απέκτησε μια τεράστια εμπειρία και εξειδίκευση που ελάχιστοι χειρουργοί στην Ευρώπη κατέχουν, και ανέλαβε τον Τομέα του Σαρκώματος στην Ευρωπαϊκή Εταιρεία Χειρουργικής Ογκολογίας. Παράλληλα, συνεχίζοντας αμείωτα το ακαδημαϊκό, ερευνητικό και επιστημονικό του έργο, έλαβε το 2021 τον Τίτλο του Τακτικού Καθηγητή Χειρουργικής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Χαϊδελβέργης, όντας ο νεότερος σε ηλικία χειρουργός που λαμβάνει αυτόν τον τίτλο.

Συνεχίζοντας με συνέπεια την ακαδημαϊκή του πορεία, απέκτησε πρόσφατα έναν ακόμη μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο (MSc) με βαθμό «Άριστα» από την Εθνική Σχολή Δημόσιας Υγείας και το Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής. Ο τίτλος του προγράμματος ήταν «Ηγεσία, Καινοτομία και Πολιτικές Αξίας στην Υγεία» , με εξειδίκευση στη «Λήψη Αποφάσεων και τον Σχεδιασμό Πολιτικών Υγείας» . Ενώ, η σταθερή και ουσιαστική ενασχόλησή του με τον τομέα της Χειρουργικής Ογκολογίας οδήγησε στην απόκτηση του Ευρωπαϊκού Τίτλου Εξειδίκευσης στη Χειρουργική Ογκολογία (Fellow of the European Board of Surgery – FEBS in Surgical Oncology), ο οποίος απονέμεται από το European Board of Surgery – UEMS Section of Surgery . Πρόσφατα, εκλέχθηκε Τακτικός Καθηγητής Χειρουργικής Ογκολογίας στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου .

Πλέον έχει επιστρέψει στην Ελλάδα έχοντας αναλάβει τη θέση του Διευθυντή στην Κλινική της Χειρουργικής Ογκολογίας στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών ενώ είναι ο Επικεφαλής του Κέντρου Σαρκώματος, Μελανώματος και Σπάνιων Όγκων.

He is the Head of the 2nd Surgical Clinic for Anorectal Diseases at the Lumedica group and serves as a Scientific Collaborator Surgeon - Proctologist at Metropolitan Hospital in Neo Faliro and at Therapis in Athens. Alivizatos Vasileios MD, PhD is a general surgeon, Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Patras, and former Coordinating Director of the Surgical Clinic at the General Hospital of Patras "Saint Andrew," where he served for a total of 36 years as a specialized surgeon. During his career, he received advanced training in liver-biliary-pancreatic surgery in Bern, Switzerland; new hernia repair techniques in Mechelen, Belgium; and Artificial Nutrition (Parenteral, Enteral) in Manchester, United Kingdom. He has attended numerous advanced training seminars in the USA and has participated in 139 medical conferences (74 in Greece, 65 abroad, mainly Europe, USA, Asia), presenting scientific clinical studies as well as delivering lectures and talks upon invitation by medical societies. Furthermore, he has 124 publications of clinical studies in Greek and international medical journals and books, with 4 of his published studies in international medical journals cited 119 times in studies by foreign authors (citation index). He has extensive experience in surgical procedures of minor and moderate severity (hernias, pilonidal cyst, lipomas, biliary diseases, anal conditions, etc.), as well as major surgeries (benign and malignant diseases of the stomach, small and large intestine, kidney, uterus, ovaries) and benign and malignant diseases of the pancreas (chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic tumors, pancreaticoduodenectomies Whipple). Currently, he practices in the private sector, covering the full spectrum of general surgery as well as Artificial Nutrition (Parenteral and Enteral, gastrostomies, enterostomies) for patients with chronic conditions who are unable to be fed orally.

Ioanna Papadopoulou is a General Surgeon and maintains private practices in Cholargos and Glyfada. She performs exclusively laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder and bile ducts, as well as all types of abdominal wall hernias. She received her Medical Degree from the “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi in 2012. She completed her rural service at the General Hospital of Messinia – Kyparissia Nursing Unit in 2013–2014. In 2021, she obtained her surgical specialty certification.

During her specialty training, she served at the 417 Army Fund Nursing Institution (N.I.M.T.S), where she specialized in advanced laparoscopic surgery for malignant colon diseases, obesity, reflux, and hernias, as well as thyroid malignancies. Additionally, at the Sismanogleio General Hospital of Athens, she participated in a large volume of colon and thyroid cancer surgeries. Considering that the present of surgery lies in laparoscopic and robotic techniques, she attended advanced laparoscopic seminars organized by ELPEN under the auspices of the Hellenic Surgical Society from 2016 to 2018.

In 2021, she completed further training in Surgical Oncology, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Finally, in 2023, she received additional training in the latest methods for managing complex diaphragmatic hernias and reflux at the Symposium on Innovation in Surgery in Malta.
