Dr. Markou Mairi is an Endocrinologist-Diabetologist and maintains a private practice in Kolonaki and Livadeia, Boeotia. She graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) in 2007 and specialized in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," acquiring significant experience in endocrinological cases. After completing the mandatory Rural Service, she completed the general part of her specialty in Internal Medicine at the General Hospital of Volos from 2010 to 2012, participating in the clinic’s operations and the hospital’s daily general on-call program. Until the start of her specialty training, Dr. Markou worked in the NHS (National Health Service) of the United Kingdom in major hospitals in London, including the A&E department at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, London, as well as the Acute Medical Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, London. She completed her specialty training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism in 2020 at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," where she gained extensive experience in a wide range of endocrinological cases. The hospital’s Endocrinology Department is a Diabetes Center and a Center of Expertise for Rare Endocrinological Diseases (Pituitary – Adrenal – Thyroid). During this training, she also attended the clinics for Gestational Diabetes, Andrology, and Infertility at the General Hospital "Elena Venizelou." Currently, Dr. Markou is an external associate of the Endocrinology Department at "Errikos Dynan Hospital Center." Additionally, in the academic year 2024-2025, she began her studies in the postgraduate program "Surgery of Endocrine Glands" at A.U.Th. and participates in research programs of the Department of Endocrine Gland Surgery at "Errikos Dynan" Hospital.
