Liakou Katerina is a Mental Health Counselor trained in Gestalt psychotherapy. She has a private practice in the center of Thessaloniki. She is a graduate of the Department of Theatre, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), holds a Diploma in Drama from the University of Kent in Canterbury, and a postgraduate degree titled "Advanced Computer and Communication Systems" from the departments of Electrical Engineering, Psychology, Medicine, etc., at AUTH. She has attended a series of seminars concerning psychoanalytic theory and practice (BPS). She has collaborated with organizations, associations, and mental health companies (Social Solidarity Clinic, YWCA Thessaloniki, Alma Zois, Alzheimer’s Society, MIT, Crisis Platform EAGT). Additionally, she has worked on a research project at AUTH focused on the education and integration of Roma children in schools. She coordinates experiential groups for adolescents and adults, parent groups, as well as psychological support and self-awareness groups, integrating theatrical art tools into the Gestalt therapeutic process. She has a particular interest in issues related to relationships, identity, self-esteem, parenting, and aging. She has experience with grief, depression, anxiety, occupational burnout, phobias, compulsions, and more. She maintains ongoing engagement with conferences and workshops.
