Markatis Fotis MD, PhD, FACS is a Vascular Surgeon - Angiologist and maintains private practices in Peristeri and Glyfada. Simultaneously, he serves as the Director of the Vascular Surgery Clinic at Metropolitan Hospital and Scientific Head of the Diabetic Foot Clinic. He holds a doctorate and is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Additionally, he holds the "Basic Surgical Skills" Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of the United Kingdom and, since 2018, he has held the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, which was awarded to him in Boston, USA. He specialized in Vascular Surgery at the 1st Surgical Clinic of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at the General Hospital of Athens "Laiko" and subsequently received further training in Hybrid and Endovascular techniques for the repair of vascular diseases and thoracoabdominal aortic conditions at Saint-Joseph Hospital in Marseille, supported by a scholarship from the European Society of Vascular Surgery. He has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad, has extensive teaching and publishing activity, and has published original research papers in Greek and international scientific journals. Finally, he is a member of the Medical Association of Athens, the Medical Association of Marseille, the British Medical Association, and the European Society for Vascular Surgery.
