Dr. Tsapakidis Giannis was born in Larisa in 1975 and graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000. He completed his Orthopedic specialty residency at Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus, with part of his training conducted at KAT Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital in London. He received a scholarship from AO and worked as a Fellow at the Sports Injuries and Trauma Center of Queens Medical Centre University Hospital in Nottingham. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Athens and a member of AO ALUMNI. Since 2006, he has served as the team physician for the women's basketball team “ESPERIDES” Kallithea (Women’s A1 Basketball Champion for 2006-07 and 2008-09 and Greek Cup Winner for 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09). From 2015 to 2018, he was part of the medical team covering orthopedic concerns for the athletes of KAE AEK. Since 2013, he has provided medical coverage for the basketball team PROTEAS VOULAS and from 2015 to 2025 served as the medical provider for the athletes of the basketball team KAE AMAROUSIOU. From 2021 to 2023, he was the team physician for the WOMEN'S NATIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM, and from 2022 to 2024 for the team of PANIONIOS B.C. Παρέχει ιατρικές συμβουλές για την αντιμετώπιση αθλητικών κακώσεων σε επαγγελματικές ομάδες μπάσκετ τόσο της Ευρώπης (Euroleague, Eurocup, Liga ACB, BBL, LNB Pro A κ.α.) όσο και της Ασίας. Στο παρελθόν έχει διατελέσει ιατρός και σε άλλες μονάδες των ειδικών δυνάμεων με συμμετοχή σε διάφορα σχολεία του Ελληνικού Στρατού (Ελεύθερης Πτώσης, Καταδυτικής Ιατρικής), καθώς και ιατρός αγώνων ποδοσφαίρου (ΕΠΣΑ,ΕΠΣΑΝΑ,ΕΠΣΔΑ,ΕΠΣΠ, Football Leaue,Football League 2, Superleague Νέων) και πολεμικών τεχνών (πανελλήνιο πρωτάθλημα παγκρατίου, καράτε κ.α.). Είναι μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου (GMC Specialty Registry) και της Βρετανικής Ορθοπαιδικής Εταιρείας Ποδός και Ποδοκνημικής (BOFAS). Έχει συμμετάσχει στο παρελθόν σε πληθώρα συνεδρίων ελληνικών και διεθνών. Έχει εξειδικευτεί στο κάτω άκρο και στις αθλητικές κακώσεις με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον το γόνατο , την ποδοκνημική και τον άκρο πόδα. Είναι ένας από τους λίγους χειρουργούς στην Ελλάδα με επίσημη εξειδίκευση στο πόδι και την ποδοκνημική στο εξωτερικό ( Foot and Αnkle Fellow). Είναι υπότροφος της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Ορθοπαιδικής και Τραυματολογίας κατόπιν ειδικών εξετάσεων και αυτήν την περίοδο είναι συνεργάτης της Ευρωκλινικής Αθηνών, της Βιοκλινικής Αθηνών, του Θεραπευτηρίου ΥΓΕΙΑ, ΜΗΤΕΡΑ και του Ιατρικού Κέντρου Αθηνών. Λόγω της ενασχόλησης του για χρόνια με τον αθλητισμό-έχοντας υπάρξει ο ίδιος ποδοσφαιριστής - και γνωρίζοντας πλέον και τις δύο όψεις αθλητή και ιατρού διαθέτει μεγάλη εμπειρία στις αθλητικές κακώσεις και στην ταχεία επιστροφή των αθλητών στις επαγγελματικές τους δραστηριότητες. Υπηρετώντας επιπλέον για περισσότερο από 6 χρόνια σε μονάδες Ειδικών Δυνάμεων έχει αναλάβει μεγάλο αριθμό δύσκολων περιπτώσεων που έχει φέρει εις πέρας με μεγάλη επιτυχία, βασιζόμενος στις ιδιαιτερότητες των υψηλών απαιτήσεων ασθενών με στόχο την ταχεία αποκατάσταση και την πλήρη επιστροφή στην υπηρεσία.

Athanasopoulos Konstantinos MD, MSc is an Orthopedic Surgeon maintaining private practices in Piraeus and Galata Troizinia, while also collaborating with the Athens Medical Group (Peristeri clinic) and the sports injury center at Mediterraneo Hospital. He is certified in robotic knee and hip arthroplasty using the most advanced robotic system worldwide, the only one with FDA certification in the USA for robotic total joint revision arthroplasty. He holds a postgraduate degree in “Metabolic Bone Diseases” from the Medical School of Athens and graduated in Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila". He specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the General Hospital of Piraeus “Tzaneio” and in Pediatric Orthopedics at the Children’s Hospital "P. & A. Kyriakou", and after successful examinations where he ranked first in Attica, he obtained the title of orthopedic specialty. He served as an instructor at the Special Training Center for Health Professionals in the Orthopedics and Traumatology department of the General Hospital of Piraeus "Tzaneio" regarding the implementation of a preventive screening program for scoliosis and other spinal deformities in students. Additionally, he has participated as a speaker and trainee in numerous conferences and seminars in Greece. His areas of expertise include arthroscopic surgery, robotic knee and hip arthroplasty, as well as robotic knee and hip revision surgery with Fast-Track ERAS protocols for rapid return to activities, and minimally invasive surgery.
