Εκπαιδεύτηκε στο τμήμα Μεταβολικών Νοσημάτων και Διαβήτη της Πανεπιστημιακής Ενδοκρινολογικής Κλινικής του Πανεπιστημίου της Padova για 3 συνεχή χρόνια, αποκτώντας κλινική εμπειρία στην αντιμετώπιση διαβητικών και παχύσαρκων ασθενών, ενώ διεξήγαγε και παράλληλο ερευνητικό έργο στο μεταβολισμό των πρωτεϊνών στους διαβητικούς ασθενείς.
