Maria Vlaxou is an orthopedic surgeon who maintains a private practice in Ilioupoli and concurrently holds the position of attending physician in the pediatric orthopedic clinic at Metropolitan Hospital.

Dr. Vlaxou was admitted to the medical school of the University of Patras in 2008 and graduated in 2014. He specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at KAT Hospital, where he also trained, among other fields, in Microsurgery. He has worked in both the private and public sectors in Greece and abroad. Among other roles, he served as the physician for the National Under-21 Football Team for one year, for the Judo Team of the National Gymnastic Association for over ten years, as team doctor for the Molaikos Laconia club, as a race doctor for the "Zirineia" Athletics competitions, as well as for the National Judo Team.
