Ophthalmologists in Prefecture of Rodopi

Ο Λιόλιος Βασίλειος είναι Χειρουργός Οφθαλμίατρος και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στους Αμπελόκηπους. Αποφοίτησε από την ιατρική σχολή του Αριστοτέλειου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης και το 2008 ξεκίνησε να εργάζεται ως ειδικευόμενος οφθαλμολογίας στο Wirral Teaching Hospital στο Liverpool και μετέπειτα και σε άλλα δημόσια πανεπιστημιακά νοσοκομεία της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας ως και το 2013, όταν και έλαβε τον Τίτλο Ειδικότητας Οφθαλμολογίας. Από το 2013 ως το 2017 εργάστηκε σε νοσοκομεία του Λονδίνου και ευρύτερα ως ειδικός οφθαλμίατρος πλέον. Το ίδιο χρονικό διάστημα ολοκλήρωσε και την εξειδίκευση του στην Παθολογία Αμφιβληστροειδούς και τις Ραγοειδίτιδες (ενδοφθάλμιες φλεγμονές) - Medical Retina and Uveitis Fellowship- στα νοσοκομεία Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Τrust και Western Eye Hospital του Λονδίνου, δίπλα στον καθηγητή Miles Stanford. Κατά την επιστροφή του από την Μεγάλη Βρετανία το 2017, προσέφερε για ένα χρονικό διάστημα τις υπηρεσίες του ως εθελοντής οφθαλμίατρος στην μη κερδοσκοπική οργάνωση PRAKSIS στη Θεσσαλονίκη εξετάζοντας ευάλωτες ομάδες ασθενών με δυσκολία πρόσβασης στις υπηρεσίες υγείας. Τα τελευταία επτά χρόνια εργάστηκε ως επιμελητής στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Νέας Ιωνίας «Κωνσταντοπούλειο -Πατησίων» υπεύθυνος ιατρείου βυθού και οφθαλμικών φλεγμονών. Ο ιατρός έχει περάσει τις ακόλουθες εξετάσεις του Βασιλικού Κολεγίου των Οφθαλμιάτρων του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου: FRCOphth Part I , Refraction Certificate και γραπτές εξετάσεις FRCOphth Part II . Το 2023 ολοκλήρωσε διαδικτυακά το μεταπτυχιακό του με τίτλο «Διοίκηση μονάδων Υγείας και Πρόνοιας», από το πανεπιστήμιο Conservatoire National Des Arts Et Métiers του Παρισιού. Έχει δημοσιεύσεις σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πολυάριθμες συμμετοχές σε διεθνή και ελληνικά συνέδρια με ελεύθερες ανακοινώσεις και πόστερ καθώς και συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικό έργο.  Ο ιατρός έχει πραγματοποιήσει πλήθος χειρουργικών επεμβάσεων καταρράκτη, λέιζερ, ενδοϋαλοειδικών ενέσεων και μικροεπεμβάσεων. Παρέχει πλήρη οφθαλμολογική εξέταση παιδιών και ενηλίκων και αναλαμβάνει χειρουργική καταρράκτη, μελέτη και φαρμακευτική αντιμετώπιση παθήσεων της οφθαλμικής επιφάνειας, γλαυκώματος, παθήσεων βυθού και οπτικής οδού και ενδοφθάλμιων φλεγμονών. Επίσης αναλαμβάνει θεραπεία ενδοϋαλοειδικών ενέσεων για παθήσεις του αμφιβληστροειδούς και της ωχράς κηλίδος (εκφύλιση ωχράς κηλίδος, διαβητική αμφιβληστροειδοπάθεια κ.ά.), λέιζερ (για γλαύκωμα, διαθλαστικά, για παθήσεις βυθού κ.ά.) καθώς και μικροεπεμβάσεις ( οφθαλμού, βλεφάρων και δακρυικής συσκευής).

Dr. Koutsonas Antonis MD, FEBOphth is an Ophthalmologist with a private practice in Kifisia. He holds a Doctorate and is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Aachen in Germany. He served for several years as a Consultant in the Department of Vitreous and Retinal Diseases at the University Ophthalmology Clinic of Aachen (2014-2022), where he specialized in the surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases and cataracts (vitreoretinal and cataract surgeon). Additionally, following European Ophthalmology examinations, he obtained the European Ophthalmology title FEBO (Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology). He possesses extensive clinical experience in prominent positions and has performed over 2200 pars plana vitrectomy surgeries for a wide range of vitreous and retinal diseases, 600 cataract and intraocular lens implantations, as well as more than 5000 intravitreal injections. He has significant research experience, having participated in numerous multicenter studies on various ophthalmic conditions, acting as principal investigator in several, and is trained in the principles of good clinical practice. He has published numerous articles in internationally renowned ophthalmological scientific journals and actively participates in international conferences. Finally, he has been involved in clinical research in the fields of glaucoma, electrophysiology, and the surgical treatment of vitreous and retinal diseases.

Dr. Miraxtsis Theodoros MD, PhD is an Ophthalmic Surgeon - Military Physician and Director of the Ophthalmology Clinic at the 424 General Army Hospital of Thessaloniki, with a private practice in Thessaloniki. He holds a degree from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and is a graduate of the Military Officers School of Corps (SSAS). He has completed postgraduate studies in Pediatric Ophthalmology and, as part of his doctoral thesis, he is extensively involved in the management of macular diseases (wet and dry age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema or post-thrombotic conditions), with the administration of new anti-angiogenic agents (anti-VEGF) and lasers. Currently, in his fully equipped ophthalmology clinic, he practices across the full spectrum of Ophthalmology with a special emphasis on Pediatric Ophthalmology - Neuro-ophthalmology, the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism with laser techniques (LASIK - PRK - FEMTO-LASIK), especially for candidates of military, police, and merchant marine academies, as well as the treatment of corneal disorders (e.g., keratoconus) using the new Cross-Linking method. He has been trained in cataract surgery using phacoemulsification and the implantation of special toric intraocular lenses for the correction of high refractive errors (very high myopia and astigmatism).

Georgios Sidiropoulos is an Ophthalmologist who maintains a private practice in Alexandria, Imathia. Concurrently, he is a Scientific Collaborator at the Ophthalmic Center Ophthalmica. He holds a Medical Degree from Democritus University of Thrace and is a diplomate of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO). He completed his Ophthalmology specialization at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki "G. Papanikolaou." Additionally, he has participated in numerous medical conferences, presenting at national conferences as well as in ophthalmology workshops, and has publications in Greek journals and posters. Finally, the physician is specialized in myopia laser treatment, cataract surgery, and macular disorders.
