Dr. Velitsos Ioannis is a Specialist Neurologist who maintains a private practice in Agia Paraskevi. He is a Military Physician, graduate of the Military School of Corps Officers (Medical Corps of SSAS) and the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Additionally, he completed postgraduate studies titled "Cerebrovascular Stroke" at Democritus University of Thrace. Following his training at the 424 General Military Hospital of Thessaloniki and at the University Hospital of Larissa, he moved to Germany, where he continued his specialization for several years at the Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus Alexianer Krefeld GmbH. There, he trained in the Stroke Unit (Regionale Stroke Unit), the Early Neurological Rehabilitation Department Phase B (Neurologische Frührehabilitation Phase B), and the Geriatric Neurology Department (Neurogeriatrie Tönisvorst) of the hospital. Upon returning to Greece, alongside his private practice in Xanthi, he served as Director of the Neurology Department at the 212 KIXNE (Military Hospital of Xanthi) during the period 2017 – 2021. Currently, he serves as Registrar in the Neurology Clinic of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, while simultaneously being a consistent Collaborator of the Neurology Clinic of Euroclinic Athens since October 2022, as a member of the Neurolife Team. He has served as Head of the Electroencephalography Department of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, Scientific Head of the Neurology Department of the Lifecheck laboratories in Psychiko and Korydallos, as well as Scientific Collaborator of the Functional Neurosurgery and Epilepsy Surgery Department at Evangelismos Hospital during 2022 - 2024, actively participating in the periodic monitoring and management of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, extrapyramidal disorders, and other neurological conditions requiring treatment with botulinum toxin (Botox).
