Drdedes Ioannis MD is an Interventional Radiologist - Interventional Oncologist and maintains his practice within the Medical Diavalkaniko Center in Pylaia, Thessaloniki. He is a founding member of the World Interventional Oncology Community and Director of the Interventional Radiology Department at the Medical Diavalkaniko Thessaloniki. He completed his basic education in Kastoria and graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He obtained his Radiology specialty at the “Hippocrates” General Hospital of Thessaloniki, with five years of daily training in Interventional Radiology. He received specialization in Interventional Radiology and Interventional Oncology at the University Clinic of Frankfurt, Germany, under Professor Th. Vogl (2000-2001). Since 2001, he has been responsible for the Digital Angiograph (Angioroom) in the Interventional Radiology department at the Medical Diavalkaniko Thessaloniki. He performs innovative minimally invasive therapeutic methods for the treatment of liver tumors with extensive experience. His treatments are unique in the private healthcare sector in Northern Greece. He has specialized for over 20 years in intra-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and embolization (TAE) of liver, kidney, as well as bone and soft tissue tumors under the digital angiograph. Drdedes's successful chemoembolization rates correspond to international standards and, in specific fields, are higher. Finally, under computed tomography guidance, he performs percutaneous tumor ablations (Ablation) of liver, kidney, and lung tumors using radiofrequency (RF Ablation) or microwave (MW Ablation).
