Good afternoon. I am planning a pregnancy. Do I need to see a doctor first? How is it the usual protocol in Greece? And if I have hypothyroidism and have been taking L-Thyroxin 50 for several years, should I stop taking it to plan a pregnancy or should I increase the dose?

  • Good afternoon! It's advisable to consult with a gynecologist for a pre-pregnancy evaluation to discuss any concerns. It's essential to ensure your thyroid levels, including TSH, are optimal for pregnancy. Thyroid medication like L-Thyroxin may need adjustment under medical guidance to support a healthy pregnancy.
