Dr. Giannakos Athanasios-Rene S. is specialized in arthroscopic surgery of sports-related knee and shoulder injuries, as well as in M.I.S. Fast Track total knee and hip arthroplasty. He initiated and completed his Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology residency at the University General Hospital of Larissa in the Orthopedic Clinic Department under the direction of Professor K.N. Malizos. He is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. During the final year of his residency, he trained in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery at the Minimal Access Surgery Unit of the I.R.C.C.S. During the first year of the specialty, he trained at the University Hospital Chieti, Italy, in the Sports Medicine Department under the direction of Professor Leonardo Vecchiet.
