Currently, Dr. Pessax is an Associate Professor of Hematology, practices privately in Athens, is a Hematologist at the Athens Medical Center, and regularly continues to practice medicine in the United Kingdom and Belgium as a specialist Hematologist. Scientifically, he has participated in hundreds of Greek and international conferences with numerous significant presentations, has authored many important scientific articles, and has contributed to the writing of two foreign-language medical books.

He has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad and has publications in Greek and international journals. Finally, a significant milestone in the doctor's medical career was in 1982, when he was awarded the "Sotiris Papastamatis Award" by the Medical Society of Athens for the best research work of the year: "The Concentration of 2,3-DPG in Red Blood Cells in Idiopathic Hypertension."
