Υπηρέτησε ως Αρχίατρος (Oberarzt) στην Πανεπιστημιακή Νευροχειρουργική Κλινική της Κολωνίας, ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα νευροχειρουργικά κέντρα της Γερμανίας, δυναμικότητας 80 κλινών. Επίσης, υπήρξε υπεύθυνος του ιατρείου αντιμετώπισης όγκων εγκεφάλου και σταθερό μέλος του Νευρο-Ογκολογικού Συμβουλίου του ίδιου νοσοκομείου, συνεργαζόμενος στενά με ιατρούς διαφόρων ειδικοτήτων για την διεπιστημονική αντιμετώπιση ασθενών με όγκους εγκεφάλου. Κατά τη διάρκεια της καριέρας του έχει διενεργήσει μεγάλο αριθμό επεμβάσεων όγκων της βάσης του κρανίου και έχει συμμετάσχει ως προσκεκλημένος εκπαιδευτής σε διεθνή σεμινάρια. Παράλληλα, διοργανώνει και διευθύνει το Διεθνές Εκπαιδευτικό Course Χειρουργικής της Βάσης του Κρανίου, το οποίο πραγματοποιείται κάθε χρόνο στην Κολωνία. I am Mr Nektarios K. Mazarakis, a neurosurgeon and complex spinal surgeon fully trained in the UK and Ireland. I am an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and provide medical services in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Lykos Nikolaos is a Physiatrist and maintains a private practice in Athens.
