Η Γιάννακα Βάσω είναι Δερματολόγος - Αφροδισιολόγος με εξειδίκευση στην Αισθητική Δερματολογία. Το 2006 εισήχθει στο τμήμα της Ιατρικής στο Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης, όπου και το 2012 ολοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές της. Ακολούθησε η έναρξη της ειδικότητας της (του γενικού τμήματος) στην Παθολογική Κλινική του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Λευκάδας για ενάμιση χρόνο. Η Μαρία Μπακιρτζή γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη και ολοκλήρωσε τη βασική εκπαίδευση στο 13° Λύκειο.

Μετά από επιτυχείς πανελλαδικές εξετάσεις εισήχθη το 2002 στην ιατρική σχολή του Δημοκρίτειου Πανεπιστημίου Θράκης, από όπου και αποφοίτησε το 2008 με το βαθμό “λίαν καλώς”.

Αφού ολοκλήρωσε την υπηρεσία υπαίθρου το 2009 στο ΚΥ Πολυκάστρου, ξεκίνησε την τριετή εκπαίδευση στη γενική χειρουργική και αγγειοχειρουργική στο Klinikum Oberberg της Γερμανίας, την οποία ακολούθησε η εξάμηνη εκπαίδευση επειγοντολογίας στη μονάδα εντατικής θεραπείας.
