Stathellis Apostolos MD, PhD is an Orthopedic Surgeon - Sports Medicine Specialist with expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle, as well as sports injuries. He graduated with honors from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a PhD from the University of Ulm in Germany. Immediately after obtaining his specialty title, he was appointed as a permanent consultant at the Minimal Access Surgery Unit of the I.R.C.C.S. GSD Hospital, Milan, Italy, under Professor - Director Prof. Pietro Randelli. He began his specialty in Sports Medicine at the University Hospital, Catanzaro, Italy, after competitive examinations, holding a salaried position - scholarship funded by the E.U., under the direction of Professor Prof. Pietro Scotto di Vettimo. In his first year of specialization, he trained at the University Hospital, Chieti, Italy, in the Sports Medicine Department under the direction of Professor Prof. Leonardo Vecchiet.
