Ο Καμπούρογλου Γεώργιος είναι Παιδοχειρουργός και δραστηριοποιείται επαγγελματικά στην Αθήνα. Εισήχθη πρώτος μετά από πανελλαδικές εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, ενώ κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του έλαβε σχετικές υποτροφίες. Στο πλαίσιο της εκπαίδευσής του στην Χειρουργική Παίδων εκπαιδεύτηκε και εργάστηκε στην Ελβετία (Πανεπιστημιακά Νοσοκομεία Γενεύης, Jura, Nyon) και στο Νοσοκομείο Παίδων "Η Αγία Σοφία", στην Αθήνα. Έχει εξειδικευθεί στη λαπαροσκοπική, διαδερμική και ελάχιστα επεμβατική χειρουργική παίδων στην Ελβετία (Γενεύη, Davos) και στο Στρασβούργο (IRCAD), όπως και στις ενδοσκοπήσεις πεπτικού (Νοσοκομείο Αγία Σοφία και IRCAD, Στρασβούργο). Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκπαίδευσής του στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο της Γενεύης ασχολήθηκε ιδιαίτερα με τα αντικείμενα της Παιδοουρολογίας και της Χειρουργικής Ήπατος και Χοληφόρων στα παιδιά. Ο ιατρός είναι διδάκτωρ του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και κατέχει επίσης μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο σπουδών στη Χειρουργική Ανατομία. Έχει στο ενεργητικό του πλούσιο ερευνητικό και συγγραφικό έργο (συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικές ομάδες, πληθώρα διεθνών και ελληνικών δημοσιεύσεων, κεφάλαια επιστημονικών συγγραμμάτων, ανακοινώσεις και ομιλίες σε διεθνή και ελληνικά συνέδρια). Είναι κριτής διεθνών επιστημονικών περιοδικών και διδάσκει μαθήματα Πρώτων Βοηθειών σε προπτυχιακούς και μεταπτυχιακούς φοιτητές, Διατελεί επίσης Αναπλ. Γενικός Γραμματέας της Εταιρείας Ιατρικών Σπουδών.
