Panagiotis Kompotiatis is a nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Nephrology at the Mayo Clinic in the United States of America (USA). He specialized in nephrology at the Mayo Clinic and in pathology at Bridgeport Hospital, Yale School of Medicine (USA). He has worked as a nephrology attending physician at the Mayo Clinic. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2021, he returned to Greece. He is a scientific collaborator of the Nephrology University Clinic of Laiko Hospital and continues his research activities in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic. Concurrently, he maintains a private practice and collaborates with the largest private hospitals in Athens. He collaborates with the Chronic Hemodialysis Units Bionephros (Moschato), NEKAD (Agios Dimitrios), NEKAS (Sparta), and the Metropolitan Hospital (Faliro) and Vouyiouklakeio Hospital (Egaleo). He has a rich scientific portfolio with numerous distinctions, publications, and presentations both in Greece and internationally. In the clinics and units he directs, he addresses all nephrological issues, implements the most advanced hemodialysis methods, and pioneering techniques such as the use of lung ultrasound to assess patients' hydration status. He provides voluntary services at the Medical Clinics of the Municipality of Kallithea. Finally, Dr. Stauroulopoulos is a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Society of Nephrology, the European Society of Nephrology, and the International Osteoporosis Foundation, and has also served as Treasurer of the Hellenic Society of Nephrology.
